Port Charles Update for Friday, 10-Aug-2001

In the monastery cellar, Michael tells Caleb that only one of them will survive the day. Caleb says that he is already dead. Michael taunts his brother about his wedding. Why isn't he with his bride? Caleb says that there was a "temporary interference." Michael thinks that Caleb looks weak. Has something frightened him? They both agree that only one of them will survive the night. Caleb thinks that Michael doesn't have the guts or the knowledge to destroy him. Michael says that his love for Eve is enough to give him courage to destroy his brother.

At the lighthouse, Jack kisses Livvie and tells her that he loves her. She says she loves him but needs Caleb. Jack asks her to remember what real love feels like. He tells her to let herself feel. She looks deep into his eyes and kisses him. She wants to feel like she belongs with someone. She removes her top. Jack says he can't resist the curve of her neck and mentions blood. As they become passionate, he pulls away and won't look at Livvie. She insists he share everything with her. Reluctantly, he reveals his fangs. Livvie tells Jack that she loves him. He asks her how they can share the life together that they had planned. Livvie tells Jack that Caleb showed her that they can have anything. Jack insists it was a trick. Livvie asks him to feed on her. Just one bite and they can be together forever.

Kevin and Lucy are on a plane to Transylvania. Lucy is reading a book about Transylvania/Romania, hoping to find a clue about Caleb and her ancestors. She wonders why Caleb looked so scared when he saw her. Lucy tells Kevin that she has come to accept that she doesn't know about her parents. Aunt Charlene did a good job raising her. Kevin says that she has always been unique and he will love her no matter what they find out. Lucy says that she should have guessed after all these years of being intuitive and being able to read her tarot cards, that something was different about her. In the airport, Kevin and Lucy talk to a worker who seems very spooky and Lucy obviously gets some bad vibes from him. When they go to get their luggage, the man picks up a phone and reports "I've seen her. She's here." The voice on the other end says "as expected. Watch them closely." The camera shows the phone being hung up by a hand with one of those gawdy, ominous rings that soap villains always wear.

In an examining room at General Hospital, Ian and Karen try to comfort Eve, who is afraid about the safety of her unborn child. Medically, everything checks out but Eve is scared to death of Caleb's intentions. Ian goes to the lounge and reads a book about protection from vampires. Frank joins him and Ian tells Frank that he'll do anything to protect his wife and baby. Frank reminds him that Caleb is unearthly and it's impossible to defend yourself against someone like that. In the examining room, Eve tells Karen how terrified she is. Karen says that she is playing right into Caleb's hands. She offers to come and live with Eve until the baby is born. Eve says that she can't let Karen do that. Frank and Ian come back in. Frank says that both he and Karen could take care of Eve. After Karen and Frank leave, Ian and Eve agree that they are at the top of the godparent list. Ian goes off to get a fetal monitor for them to bring home. When Eve is alone, we see someone from the waist down approaching her. She looks up and says "oh...it's you." It's Michael, who says that he chose between her and his brother. Caleb is dead.
