Port Charles Update for Friday, 17-Aug-2001

Kevin and Lucy encounter James at the estate in Transylvania. He reveals to them that he saved Lucy, when the attempt on her life was made. He tells Lucy why the locals are so frightened of her (could she be "Lucy, the vampire slayer?"). He also warns Kevin and Lucy that if they leave the estate tonight, they may not return home alive to Port Charles. He urges them to spend the night at the estate and he will arrange safe passage out for them in the morning. He says Caleb left the estate many years ago and they haven't heard much from him. He realizes that Kevin and Lucy know what Caleb is. Kevin calls James' bluff, and tells him he thinks James knows more than he is telling, and that he thinks James saw Caleb very recently.

As Lucy is desperate for answers about her family, and her connection to Caleb, James assures Kevin and Lucy that he will fill them in on anything they wish to know, as long as he is not asked to betray confidences (what does THAT mean?!). As Kevin tells James that Caleb is dead, and was killed by his twin brother, James appears pre-occupied and says that based on this latest development, he has much work to do. Kevin and Lucy are invited to stay at the estate, or return home, it's their choice. They agree with each other that they need to leave, and Kevin sets out to call Victor for help in leaving the country. As Lucy is wandering about the back gardens of the estate BY HERSELF! (are these people crazy??!) , she is grabbed from behind, and pulled into the bushes.

A tearful Livvie tells Jamal and Allison that Jack has left her. She goes to the woods to be alone and mourn the loss of Caleb...and Jack. Jamal tells Allison that Jack asked Jamal to kill him, so that Livvie would be safe from him. Now that Caleb's dead, Jack feels he is the only other person who is a threat to Livvie. Jamal couldn't do it, so Jamal fears Jack has gone somewhere to die. They figure out that he may be at the catacombs, the place where Michael always went, and head there. Jamal and Allison find Jack, and Jamal leaves Allison to care for Jack while he goes in search of a fresh supply of red stuff! Allison tearfully tells Jack he is her friend and must not die. While in the woods, Livvie encounters CALEB! and he asks her to give him what she knows he needs to survive.

Ian and Eve return home (accompanied by Frank and Karen) and are relieved that Caleb is no longer a threat to their baby. They toast their future (and their baby's) together. Karen gives Eve her first baby gift, a locket. Eve quickly replaces the medallion Michael gave her to protect her from Caleb, with the beautiful necklace.

On the next Port Charles....Allison makes a painful decision to help save Jack's life.
