James offers Kevin wine, but he declines. Kevin has a coughing fit (real or staged, I do not know). He asks James for a glass of water, but James gives him the wine instead. Meanwhile, a stranger drags a screeching Lucy back to the cemetery. He doesn’t remain a stranger for long, however. He is Lucy’s cousin Rafe, and they are the last of the Koviches. And to top that, they are vampire slayers! Lucy says even this is too much for her, she can’t just believe this with no proof. Rafe speaks of Lucy’s gifts, her powers, that are passed down through their bloodline. She doesn’t believe, until Rafe speaks to her without opening his mouth. They’re able to communicate telephathically. She now realizes how she was able to stop Caleb. He tells her that it was James who tried to kill her, and he (Rafe) was the one who saved her. She suddenly realizes that Kevin (who is now unconscious on James’ sofa) is in grave danger and they must save him, but Rafe tells her she is his priority. Too late anyway, as they try to escape, 2 men block their way and James approaches sinisterly.
