Port Charles Update for Wednesday, 22-Aug-2001

In Transylvania, Lucy has convinced James
to let her out of the jail. She tells him that she has "seen the light" and wants to become a vampire, not just a vampire slayer. She says if she can get Caleb to help her become a vampire, that they could destroy her whole family. He is intrigued and she almost had him believing her, until she started to ask too many questions about Caleb's talisman and he caught onto her. Lucy's cousin tells Kevin that the best way to destroy a vampire is to take away his talisman. Then they figure out that Lucy is trying to get information on the talisman from James.

James pulls a fast one on her, when he tells Lucy that he has locked away a syringe of Caleb's blood and if she really wants to mingle her blood with Caleb's, they can take care of that right then and there. After Lucy tells him she can't become a vampire, James tells her he was testing her and she failed. Kevin calls for the guard, as he is not going to wait any longer, and pretends to collapse in the presence of the guard. After they take care of the guard, Kevin and Raef break into the room and corner James. Kevin is ready to kill him, but Lucy urges him to keep James alive, as he is the only thing that can get them to Caleb.

Caleb appears to Livvie and tells her they will now be together forever. Caleb carries her off and tells her that she has now entered into an eternal life. Caleb starts to leave the room to get a surprise for Livvie, and Jack appears in the room. Caleb thinks Jack is there to fight him, but to his surprise, Jack tells Caleb he is there to tell him that he wins, Jack will fight him no longer!

Jack tells Allison and Jamal that now that Caleb has fed off Livvie, she has returned to Caleb. Because Jack pushed her away and told her he didn't love her anymore (he was trying to protect her, he feared he was a danger to her) then Livvie will return to those who love her, which is Caleb, not Jack. Allison and Jamal are determined to help Jack find Livvie to let her know he still loves her. However, Jack says (in vampire-speak) that he is through chasing after Livvie. The only way to protect Livvie now so that she doesn't have to "cross over to vampire-hood" is for Jack to kill someone so that he can protect her (makes perfect sense to me!). Jack tells them there is still a chance for Livvie to become a human again, as long as Jack becomes a full vampire and destroys Caleb. As he tells Jamal and Allison that he has had some of his best times with them, he warns them to stay away from him once he is a vampire because he has no idea what it's going to be like.

On the next Port Charles... something is protecting James, and Caleb gives Jack a shocking test of his loyalty.
