Port Charles Update for Monday, 24-Sep-2001

Jack and Livvie talk about their nightmares. She’s distressed that she can’t remember it, since it seemed so important and he omits the part about Caleb from his dream.

Kevin touches the mirror above the mantle in disbelief. He and Lucy ask Rafe how he did it, and Rafe is quite casual about his powers. He says he simply believes that love and good are stronger than Evil. Rafe assures them that the evil is gone FOR NOW.

Ian wants to find out what’s making all the noise outside. A very tense Eve begs him not to go, that Caleb may be trying to lure them outside so he can get Daniel. Ian insists on checking things out, so while she fusses over a still silent Daniel, Ian goes down to the basement, which is completely torn apart. He sees something on top of a metal cabinet and while trying to climb up and get it, Ian falls, with the cabinet falling on top of him and trapping him underneath. He seems unhurt, just stuck. When he doesn’t return, a distraught Eve calls Kevin. He and Lucy head over to Eve’s place, leaving Rafe at the lighthouse.

Jack and Livvie start getting hot and heavy upstairs when who should walk in on them but Rafe. He apologizes, embarrassed. Livvie is angry and demands to know why he is there (I too, wonder why he showed up at Kevin’s house and not at Lucy’s). Jack, however, once he realizes who Rafe is, is very happy to meet him. Rafe seems oblivious to the fact that Livvie is being really nasty to him and finally demands he leave her room. Jack wants to know why she was so hard on Rafe, and she says she just really wants to be alone with him. They decide to leave the lighthouse. As Livvie gets ready, Jack goes downstairs. He questions Rafe about whether he can see any vampire remnants in him (“nothing worth slaying” the good cousin says) and asks whether Rafe will stop by his place later to discuss whether the aftereffects of Caleb will continue haunting them all. Meanwhile upstairs, Livvie drifts once again into a trancelike state.

When Kevin and Lucy show up, Eve is in a panic as she tells them what’s happened. She insists it’s a trick from Caleb. Kevin goes off in search of Ian while Lucy fusses over baby Daniel and tries unsuccessfully to calm Eve. She tells Eve about her cousin and Eve demands to know why he has shown up now, whether it’s because of Caleb. Ian has managed to free himself from the metal cabinet and has found a box of papers that he’s very interested in but when Kevin finds him, he hides them. Ian tells Kevin someone must have broken Ian and that they should get out of there in a hurry. Kevin helps Ian hobble back upstairs. Eve is thrilled to see him. Kevin wants to call the police but Ian refuses and practically shoves Kevin and Lucy out the door. They realize they’ve been given the bums rush and Kevin says Ian is acting as though he was hiding something.

In an undetermined location, we see a hand in a black leather glove (Caleb?) writing a note to Kevin, telling him that Ian Thornhart is not what he says he is.

Tomorrow, Jamal is reminded of a past liaison that Alison is unaware of and Kevin receives a letter casting suspicion on Ian.
