Port Charles Update for Monday, 1-Oct-2001

Monday, October 1: Scene opened with ALLISON just overhearing GABY mention that JAMAL had slept with VALERIA. Alison begins to ask about Jamal's relationship with Valerie & Gaby leaves the Bike Shop. Next Scene is EVE & IAN AT THE LOFT:Eve has just put Daniel to bed & notices that Ian is distracted & they begin to talk about Ian's revelation that he killed the husband of a married nurse he had been seeing - talk about Ian's past accusation of having killed someone. Scene switches to LIGHTHOUSE where LUCY OVERHEARS KEVIN ask Victor to dig up more information about the man Ian was supposed to have killed. BACK AT THE BIKE SHOP, Jamal & Ali talk about Valerie when the door blows open & Valerie's gift to Jamal blows down at Ali's feet. Scene switches to THE RECOVERY ROOM where Gaby is seated when FRANK enters. They talk about Jamal, & Gaby admits to Frank that Caleb's pull is still something she can feel. Gaby admits to Frank that she put the moves on a priest & Frank mentions he spoke to Joe. Gaby asks if Frank has told Joe about Gaby being a vampire & Frank says he has not told Joe anything about the vampires in PC. Gaby admits longing for Joe & dreaming that they could be together again. Frank suggests that maybe it would be better to think about moving on & admits that Joe may have found someone new. Gaby voices her disappointment & Frank promises to help Gaby get back on track & squeezes her hand. Frank says that Gaby has family 'now'(?) - that she has Jamal & that since Gaby did go with Joe, he considers her a part of the Scanlon family. (It drives me crazy when they forget so soon that not so long ago, Gaby had parents (plural) & four other brothers who were so concerned about Gaby & Emilio's disappearance into the Psych Ward that they sent the family priest to investigate!) As Frank leaves, Gaby mutters how strange it is that she has just noticed how much Joe & Frank are alike. Meanwhile BACK AT THE LIGHTHOUSE, KEVIN & LUCY discuss the unsigned letter Kevin received and the fact that he feels a background check on Ian is the right course of action. Kevin says 'we don't really know Ian' but Lucy urges Kevin to forget the strange letter. Kevin tells Lucy that Ian killed the husband of a married woman he was having an affair with - 'doesn't that ring a bell?!' BACK AT THE LOFT, EVE ASKS IAN if there are any more secrets. Ian tells her there are none, but after Eve goes on to bed, Ian goes to the closet & takes out a locked box. (BRIEF DIGRESSION: They traveled through past lives together, but they do not really know each other? How could that be? Oh, well!) BACK AT THE BIKE SHOP, ALI ASKS JAMAL WHY he told her the gift was from a grateful customer instead of from Valerie & calls Valerie a 'lovesick homing pigeon' & asks Jamal when he was going to tell Ali about the fact that Jamal & Valerie had slept together. Jamal answers 'Never' & explains that that was yesterday & this is today. Alison admits she feels she can trust Jamal but not Valerie. Alison then leaves the Bike Shop, saying she is about to blow a major fuse & needs some space. BACK AT THE LIGHTHOUSE, KEVIN & LUCY discuss the anonymous letter Kevin received & Kevin tells Lucy that Eve & Ian's kidnapping could have happened a different way but Lucy tells Kevin to let it go. After Lucy leaves, Kevin imagines the possibility of it having been Ian who kidnapped Eve, rather than it having been Harris who kidnapped Ian & Eve together. BACK AT THE RECOVERY ROOM, JAMAL NOTICES GABY sitting alone after Frank has gone & Gaby asks how Ali is taking the news about Jamal & Valerie. Jamal says there is nothing to worry about! MEANWHILE, AT THE RETREAT, ALISON CONFRONTS VALERIE & returns the gift Valerie got for Jamal. Alison tells Valerie in no uncertain terms that Valerie needs to leave Jamal alone. Alison says: 'If you need comfort, talk to a priest. Otherwise, go play elsewhere!'BACK AT THE LIGHT HOUSE, KEVIN RECEIVES A CALL FROM A WOMAN WITH AN ACCENT. She asks if Kevin received her letter & Kevin says he did. The woman says 'Ian is a dangerous man & I'm afraid he will hurt his wife,' while Kevin looks at a picture of a woman from the police report. When Lucy asks Kevin who called, Kevin says it was a wrong number. OVER AT THE LOFT, IAN IS LOOKING AT THE SAME PICTURE OF THE SAME WOMAN & a letter from ANNE-MARIE which says: 'DEAR IAN -YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO KIDNAP ME TO MAKE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU - LOVE - ANNE-MARIE. Ian says 'No More Secrets' & tears up the letter & picture. THE PREVIEW FOR TUESDAY SHOWS Chris in what appears to be the Chief Resident's office, holding a vial of what appears to be blood & dictating a report on vampire blood - which he thinks holds the secret to eternal life. LIVVIE & JACK ARE ELSEWHERE, & Livvie says 'You think I'm still in love with him!', to which Jack replies: "I did not know you ever were in love with him!!!' Sincerely, Irene
