Port Charles Update for Tuesday, 2-Oct-2001

Chris sits with a tape recorder, a microscope, and vials of blood. He calls the blood vitamin V for vampires. He says that he needs another blood sample from Gabriela in order to compare before and after.

Gabriela is outside the Recovery Room. She feels like something or someone is there. A street lamp shatters loudly and Gaby screams.

Karen and Frank are smooching in the on-call room. They talk about Chris saying he was on the verge of a medical breakthrough. Karen reminds Frank that Chris had been bitten by Caleb. Frank says that Gabriela has been having a hard time shaking her connection to Caleb. They think that those who were bitten are suffering from a Caleb hangover. When Karen tells about how Chris came on to her, Frank wants to deck him. Karen says that Chris didn't seem like himself, but she would be able to tell if he was on drugs. Karen is paged to the OR. She finds out that it is Gabriela that they are bringing in. After Karen and Frank rush off, Chris comes out of a back room and says that this is just what the doctor ordered. Karen and Frank rush into the ER, followed closely by Chris. Gabriela is hysterical, thinking she's being punished for doing bad things. As Frank tries to calm her down, Chris pricks Gaby's finger and puts her blood on a slide. Outside the ER door, Chris instructs Colleen to take Gaby's blood. Colleen balks because Karen didn't order it, but Dr. Ramsey reminds her that he is Karen's superior. When Karen releases Gabriela, Frank offers to give Gaby a ride, but she declines. Alone, Gaby prays for strength to resist feelings coming over her.

In his bedroom, Kevin is trying to trace the call he received earlier about Ian. Lucy walks in, wearing Kevin's sexy pajama top and tries to seduce him. When she realizes that Kevin is pre-occupied, she asks if he's still thinking about Ian and Eve. Lucy says she still feels an evil force present. They stop talking about Ian and Caleb and make love. They talk about their Christmas wedding and being together for life. When Kevin is asleep, Lucy gets a spooky feeling when wind blows through the doors. She steps outside to the balcony and can't shake her feeling. When she climbs back into bed, she hears Kevin saying Eve's name.

Chris examines the slide with Gabriela's blood on it. He is a happy, smiling man as he envisions a successful future.

In their bedroom, Jack is trying to get Livvie to remember how she wound up in the catacombs half-naked. Livvie is very evasive but Jack persists. He thinks that their vampire qualities are returning. Livvie says that can't be because they saw Caleb die. Jack keeps asking Livvie questions about how she got into the catacombs and why she went there. She tells him she is trying desperately to forget everything about Caleb. Does Jack think she is still in love with Caleb? Jack's face drops. He didn't know she was ever in love with Caleb. Livvie says that Caleb tricked her into thinking she was in love with him. She wants for them to enjoy their time together and stop looking over their shoulders. Later, as they lay asleep, that old evil wind blows through their room. We hear Caleb's voice talking to Livvie. He is saying that he has planted seeds of doubt with happy couples. He thinks he will triumph and then laughs that evil laugh.
