Port Charles Update for Thursday, 4-Oct-2001

Karen complains to Chris when she sees the residents' new schedule. She has all-nighters two nights in a row. She comments that Chris has an easy schedule. He reminds her that he is the chief resident in his usual cocky manner. A lab tech named Jeff brings Chris a lab report. After Chris walks away, Jeff asks Karen if everyone hates Chris. Karen asks him what the report was. Jeff says that Chris ordered a blood panel on Gabriela Garza. In his office, Chris is thrilled when he reads the results. He was right and now he knows what makes a vampire. He is ready for fame and fortune and maybe eternal life. He needs a guinea pig. He looks in the mirror. Later, as he prepares to inject himself with the blood, Karen walks in on him. She demands an explanation, first for her and then for Alan. She reads the report and realizes that Chris is still working on vampire symptoms. She asks him how he could after they saw all the misery it could cause. She grabs the needle and calls out for help. Chris grabs it and they struggle. Surprise! Surprise! The needle goes into Karen.

In a parklike setting, Lucy asks Rafe why he came to Port Charles. Did he know something was wrong? Lucy feels that people are not acting normally. It's like they are possessed or being stalked, even her Doc. Livvie has also been acting strangely, thinking she sees Caleb's ring everywhere. Lucy wants Rafe to team up with her to fight this force. Rafe thinks she has a death wish. He tells her not to do anything on her own. Lucy says she has to help her friends. Rafe tells her that she must listen to him or he'll go back to where he came from. Lucy promises to do what Rafe wants. She trusts him. She just wishes that he would trust her too. After she leaves, Rafe picks up a piece of her clothing that she left behind. He has visions of Lucy running desperately through a wooded area. She is holding a wooden stake. Caleb grabs her from behind. She slumps to the ground. Rafe says that he's sorry but he can't tell Lucy about this.

Eve has just put Daniel down for a nap. She starts doing chores. Ian insists that she lay down for a nap also. Eve explodes: "Dammit! Stop telling me what to do!" She starts going nuts and throws things all around the room. Ian tells Eve that she has to get a grip. Eve calls Ian an insensitive pig. She doesn't know why she feels the way she does. They had a beautiful day in the park. Things changed when they came home. Eve starts to cry and Ian hugs her.

Kevin talks to the woman who hid in the back seat of his car. Her name is Anne Marie. She is the widow of the man whom Ian murdered. She witnessed it all. It wasn't self-defense. Ian tried to kill her also. She tells her story. She met Ian in Africa. He arranged for them to be held captive. Her husband came to rescue her. Ian killed him. She was hit by a car and Ian left her for dead. She's afraid that Eve will be in danger if she "disobeys" Ian. Why has she come forward after all these years? She has always kept tabs on Ian. She couldn't stay silent when she found out he had a child. Kevin has heard enough. Ian is not a monster. He would never hurt a child. Anne Marie says that she was pregnant when she was hit by the car. She holds Ian responsible for the loss of her child. When Kevin turns around to look at her, she runs out of the car. Anne Marie enters the catacombs. The hologram of Caleb is there. He tells her that she did a good job. She removes her scarf, revealing a blond woman. Then she morphs into Livvie.
