As Frank and Karen make love in the cabin, Chris watches from outside. Frank still doesn’t realize what has caused the changes in Karen. When they take a break from their passion, Karen proposes to Frank. At first he thinks she’s joking around, but she is quite sincere and after getting over the shock, he accepts. When he goes to answer the phone, Karen hears a noise outside and catches Chris spying on them. She lets him have it. Allowing him to monitor her condition doesn’t include playing peeping Tom on her and her fiancé. When Karen goes back inside to Frank, Chris mutters that this is one wedding that’s just not going to take place.
Valerie shows Hope’s baby book to Jamal. Valerie is really angry about how the Hartman’s are treating her (even though she did give up her baby for adoption). She decides that she’s going to confront them and wants Jamal to come along and mediate. When he refuses, she can’t understand why it’s not his responsibility to do this as her friend.
Meanwhile, Alison is feeling very guilty about causing the Hartman’s to terminate Valerie’s contact with Hope. Jack voices his concern that there’s more to the story than they know, since the Hartman’s were content with Valerie’s contact for a year and suddenly are breaking off the arrangement. Jack thinks there may be some validity to the idea that Jamal is Hope’s biological father but tells Alison that either way – if Jamal e is the father or even if he’s not and finds out it was Alison who caused Valerie to lose her visitation with Hope – Alison will be the loser.
Alison finds Hope’s baby books and starts paging through it. She comes across Hope’s birth weight, which apparently is not what would be expected of a premature baby. She also comes across a lock of Hope’s hair, and after some indecisiveness, she takes a piece to use for a DNA test just before Jamal catches her with the book.
Livvie is angry with Caleb, very angry, now that she remembers everything that he made her do. He is still trying to program her, telling her that she loves him more than her human friends and this is why she brought him back. Caleb tries to justify his actions by saying he just tried to love her and the others all hurt her. When she expresses guilt for what she did, he reminds her that she just planted a seed, they did the rest themselves. Livvie is devastated by her role in her friends’ misery. Caleb is still promising eternal life and happiness, but not without a price, one which she is currently paying. Caleb tells her that if she attempts to tell the truth, they’ll either blame her for destroying their lives or think she’s crazy and lock her up, after all, Caleb is dead! He continues in his insistence that she really still wants and loves him, and will always help him. When Livvie tries to leave, Caleb traps her in a beam of red light. She’ll leave when he says so.
Tomorrow, Livvie continues to fight against Caleb’s influence.
