Port Charles Update for Monday, 10-Dec-2001

Rafe reflects on his successes with Jack and Livvie, Lucy and Kevin, and now plans to move onto Eve and Ian, with some help from Allison.

As Eve decorates for Danny’s first Christmas, Ian is acting like the Grinch. They argue, and Eve becomes dejected. She opens the invitation for Kevin and Lucy’s Christmas party and gets really pissed off, taking off in a huff. Alison and Rafe show up shortly afterward, bearing a gift for Danny. Ian is still grumpy but they convince him to open the gift, an ornament that glows with the magic pink light. He realizes he has someplace else to be and leaves Ali and Rafe to babysit Danny. When Daniel gets fussy and Alison can’t calm him down, Rafe creates a mobile of light-up animals. The baby is amazed, Alison is amazed and Rafe is amazed by the beauty of Alison’s smile and tells her so.

Once Ian arrives home, Alison and Rafe go on their way. She asks him what it’s like to do what he does, so he stands behind her, takes her hands and tells her to channel out all of her love. She creates the same mobile that he did for Danny. Rafe leans in to kiss her but pulls away abruptly, leaving her perplexed and alone in the dark.

Lucy is working on the seating arrangements for the “party” and practicing saying her “I Do”’s when Eve arrives. Eve bears a nasty-gram for Lucy, who expected this would happen at some point. Lucy takes full responsibility for what happened between her and Ian, and reassures Eve it was desperation and not love. Eve compares Lucy to a poisonous spider, looking to trap yet another victim in her web. Eve can’t imagine what Kevin sees in Lucy. Lucy apologizes yet again but soon has had enough and reminds Eve that if she’d had a little more faith in her husband, he wouldn’t have been looking for love in all the wrong places. Eve calls Lucy a bitch; Lucy un-invites her to the party and Eve tells Lucy too late, Lucy’s going to get what’s coming to her and she wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Eve arrives home to discover that the Christmas spirit has descended upon Ian, who has put up a tree and is stringing garlands of popcorn and cranberries. He admits he was behaving like a jerk.

Kevin reassures his mystery woman, he just wishes the circumstances of her arrival were different, but he’s so glad for this “chance.” He talks about his missed chances for love and that they won’t tell Lucy that she is here. He remarks how amazing it is that the course of your life can just change in an instant. Mystery Woman tells Kevin she has a surprise for him and leads him by the hand to the bedroom.

Tomorrow, Chris comes looking for Karen; Jack suggests a big step for him and Livvie; Jamal questions Alison.
