Port Charles Update for Monday, 17-Dec-2001

Valerie and Jamal walk in on the kiss between Rafe and Alison, Valerie looks amused. Jamal demands to know what’s going on, and Rafe attempts to take all the blame but it’s obvious to Jamal that the kiss was 2 sided. Rafe is on the verge of telling Jamal the real truth about who he is and what he’s doing, but Alison stops him and has Rafe and Valerie leave her and Jamal alone. Outside the apartment, Valerie wants the scoop from Rafe, who says it doesn’t concern her but she believe Rafe has just done her a huge favor. Meanwhile, inside Jamal confronts Alison about having something going on with Rafe. She assures him that they are just friends, but with everything going on with him and Valerie and Hope, she felt pushed to the side and things went a little too far. She assures Jamal that she doesn’t love Rafe, and he decides what they have is too good to throw away over this. He tells her what Valerie pulled at the airport and how she’s going to be moving out. As they begin to put their time alone to good use, Valerie arrives with Dr. Hartman, who brings news that Hope is very sick and he needs their help.

Eve and Ian embrace in the police station and she tells him her side of the story. The police have caught the carjacker. Eve and Ian head home and reconnect. He’s seen the light, after thinking that he’d lost her, and decides they can’t waste any more time. Things start to heat up between them as they begin their first post-baby love fest.

Lucy is nearly in tears as she watches Kevin with the mystery woman in the park, how he’s touching her, how he gave her the scarf she helped him select. She thinks maybe the woman is Livvie, but when she stands, it’s obvious she is too tall to be Livvie. She decides she is going to confront Kevin right then and there, but is distracted by a little boy. By the time she turns her attention back to the park bench, Kevin and the mystery gal are gone.

Kevin realizes that Mystery Gal is nervous about being seen in public with him and about Lucy. He tells her they’ll deal with Lucy and do it right this time. Kevin tells her he’s arranged to spend the entire day with her.

As Rafe journals about screwing up with Alison and Jamal, he realizes he is in over his head and needs someone to talk to. In walks Lucy, who really needs to talk to him too. She tells him how Kevin lied and is cheating on her. He tries to tell her that when you feel bad about something, it helps you to help someone else but she just isn’t getting that there’s something up with him. She continues on about her doubts over Kevin and the wedding. Rafe tries to convince her it’s not what she thinks, maybe the woman was a wedding planner but Lucy isn’t hearing any of that. She beats herself up for trusting Kevin and she describes how deeply she loves him – and Rafe can relate to these feelings! She decides Rafe is right; she should just wait this out and see how it plays. Of course, Rafe never had a chance to offer his advice, and if he had, it would’ve been to confront Kevin with her suspicions. Oh well.

While Rafe convinces himself that he’s going to hell, Lucy runs straight into Kevin. She spends 10 seconds telling herself to just let everything slide for now but of course, that’s not happening – this is Lucy we’re talking about after all. She tells Kevin she has something that she needs to ask him about.

Tomorrow, Kevin owes Lucy and apology, Chris plants a kiss on Alison’s granny and Rafe blurts out the truth (some of it anyway) to Livvie, who realizes he’s been bitten by the love bug.
