Port Charles Update for Friday, 21-Dec-2001

In a taxi, Lucy is becoming hysterical because she's back in Port Charles. The driver, who is Rafe's boss, Ed, says that he is off-duty after he leaves her off at the Port Charles hotel. He says "ta", smiles at her and leaves. When Lucy realizes what he said, she is astonished and asks how he knows. He pulls away.

Alison calls Jamal to wish him a Merry Christmas because she can't fly out of Port Charles.

In the hotel ballroom, the guests are having a wonderful time as Rafe watches, beaming with happiness. He steps outside and writes in his journal how he never understood about love but now he does. After tonight, everyone in Port Charles is on their own. Eve tells Ian she feels really special wearing the bracelet he gave her. Livvie tells Jack not to worry about his brother. Chris will be ok. Jack sees Chris going toward Mac and can't help worrying. Kevin tells Rafe that he is worried. He still hasn't seen Lucy. When Lucy comes in, she tells Rafe how she was on her way to Hawaii, but wound up in Port Charles. Kevin sees her but Lucy doesn't want to talk to him and rushes off. While Chris is telling Mac that he thinks he's being stalked, Jack tries to get him to leave. Livvie tells Lucy that the room looks like a winter wonderland, or a winter wedding. Lucy finds Don and asks him why he accepted these decorations. He tells her that she should hurry and change her dress. Mary comes along and introduces Rev. Giovanni. Lucy is upset to see Chris at the party. As Lucy rushes away, she turns to look at Kevin. They look at each other for a long time. Kevin looks around the ballroom and tells Victor that it looks exactly how he and Lucy had described a perfect setting for a wedding. Karen and Frank tell Serena, Rhonda, Lee and Gail how happy they are together. Chris tells Amanda he'll do anything to get his job back, including sleeping with her. When Alison arrives, Rafe tells her how happy he is to see her. He holds her hand and when he takes his hand away, there is a ring box. Then he makes it disappear. Kevin finds a ring box in his jacket pocket. He tells Victor that he just got this jacket from the cleaners and he knows he didn't put the rings there. The "light" comes over Kevin. He remembers seeing these rings one day in a store with Lucy. He tells Victor "it's time." Lucy tells Don that she doesn't see her green dress. This one is white. Don goes off to find her dress and runs into Serena, Rafe and Alison. Rafe thinks that Lucy would love to see Serena right now. Serena goes in and tells Lucy that she's the most beautiful woman she knows. She starts to give Lucy a flower that she took from the hallway, and it turns into a big white bouquet. When she's alone, Lucy cries, saying she'll never marry Kevin like she had hoped. She won't give him a chance to humiliate her tonight. She'll stay fifty feet away from him. Outside, Chris gets a call on his cel phone but nobody answers him. Kevin tells Victor and Mac that he's going to marry Lucy tonight. Victor asks if it is because of the rings. Kevin says it's because he loves her. She makes him feel younger. Lucy enters in her white dress. When Kevin calls to her, she tries to ignore him. Eve tells Ian how much she loves her bracelet, but she knows that they've lost something. Alison dances with Rafe. Slowly, she becomes as tall as he is. She says it's like dancing on air. When she looks down, her feet aren't touching the floor. Kevin catches up to Lucy, but she doesn't want to listen to him. She starts screaming at him and all the guests listen in amazement. She says she knows what he's going to tell her. He tells her to look around. All their friends are there and the place is decorated just like they wanted for their wedding. Lucy insists that she didn't plan it that way. Kevin wants to get married tonight. He doesn't know how all this happened, but it's a sign for them. Alison and Rafe give each other a knowing look. Lucy mentions the woman that she has seen Kevin with. He assures her that it's not what she thinks. He wants Lucy to trust him. Kevin asks again "Yes or no? will you marry me?"
