Port Charles Update for Thursday, 27-Dec-2001

Jamal/Alison/Valerie: Alison is on the phone with Jamal, telling him that she misses him and hates that they can't be together for the holidays. Jamal tells her that they'll have their own celebration when he gets back. Alison will check up on the airport to see if they are open again. After their conversation is over, Valerie asks Jamal what is taking so long with the prep work. Jamal tells her not to worry-everything will be fine. He also reminds her that he still won't change his mind about his decision to terminate his parental rights. Later on, Alison calls Jamal but Valerie answers and tells her that they are very busy and she shouldn't be calling them.

Gabby/Ricky: Gabby is getting ready for surgery when Ricky walks in. He startles her and she can't believe that he is out of prison. He says that he was let out early for good behavior. He hasn't seen her in over three years and has been looking all over PC to find her. She used to write him letters all the time, but recently, she stopped. Gabby tells him that she'll explain all that later. Ricky disapproves of her going through the surgery because he doesn't want her to take any risks. Gabby protests and says that she is doing this to save a little girl. The two begin to get into a heated argument when Jamal walks in and punches Ricky. Gabby tells the two of them to stop-they are both of her brothers. This revelation comes as a shock to the two guys.

Kevin/Lucy: They have changed from their wedding attire and are now outside Julie's hotel room. Lucy voices her concern about whether or not Julie is serious about giving Christina to her. She doesn't trust Julie will keep her word. But Lucy decides that she needs to trust Julie, just like she trusted Kevin.

Kevin/Lucy/Chris/Julie: Chris opens the door for Kevin and Lucy and can't believe how big Christina has gotten. He tells Julie that she looks just like her. Christina is sleepy so Kevin decides to lay her on the couch. Julie and Lucy eye each other, each one unsure of what to say. Finally, Julie says hello to Lucy. Lucy replies that Kevin has told her everything and now Lucy wants some time alone to speak with Julie. Chris wants Kevin and Lucy to leave, but Julie agrees with Lucy. So Kevin and Chris step outside to the hallway.

Kevin/Chris: Kevin apologizes for Chris' situation. Chris doesn't believe he is sincere and tells Kevin that he and Lucy got their wish- Julie is dying and Christina is theirs. Chris says that no one else gives a damn about Julie except him. Kevin says that Chris can believe what he wants. Chris claims that Kevin should have called him the second he found out that Julie was back in town. But Kevin says there is nothing anyone can do-Julie is dying and Chris couldn't save her then and can't save her now. Kevin says that Julie has made peace with her impending death. All he and everyone else wants is what is best for both Julie and Christina. Chris agrees that he wants what is best for Christina. Once Kevin leaves, however, Chris says that both he and Kevin disagree with what they think is best for the little girl. He calls for a taxi for him, his wife and their daughter.

Back to Lucy/Julie: Julie offers to get Lucy something to drink but Lucy declines. Lucy asks her how long she has left-Julie answers several weeks or several months. Julie explained that she has been preparing Christina for everything. Christina knows that Julie is sick and when she leaves, she'll be in heaven. Julie has also been showing Christina pictures of Lucy, explaining to the tot that Lucy is her other mommy. Lucy expresses her gratitude for what Julie is doing for her. Then Lucy tells Julie how much she hated her for taking Christina out of her life. Julie says that she understands, but that she wanted to spend that time with her daughter and she is glad that she was able to do so. Then Julie begins filling Lucy in on all of Christina's favorite movies and television shows. Julie also tells her about her naptime schedule, etc. Christina then wakes up and says "Mommy." Julie tells Lucy that "mommy" is her now but Lucy tells her "no, it's the both of us." The two of them, hand in hand, walk over to their daughter. Julie tells her that Christina has this song she likes Julie to sing. Lucy begins to sing one that she used to sing to Christina way back when. Coincidentally, this is the same song that Julie sang to her. Christina asks Lucy to sing the song again, which she does. We fade to commercial with the two mothers sitting side by side by their daughter. Very touching scene.

Tomorrow:
Jack and Livvie are telling Alison goodbye when she slips on some ice, hitting her head.

Rafe tells Ed that it is not over-he will go back and help Alison.

Julie tells Lucy that it is time for Christina to go home to Lucy.
