Port Charles Update for Wednesday, 2-Jan-2002

Do you promise not to tell?

That’s right folks, it’s the beginning of the arc known as Secrets and let me tell you, this arc begins with a bang. Well to be totally honest this arc begins with the same very bright light Miracles Happen ended with. In her hospital room, Allison marvels at the light and at Rafe, back from his short visit to Heaven. Kevin and Lucy all cuddly at the Lighthouse are also discussing the light, which Lucy describes as beautiful. Kevin knows just who to call to see about it, and sure enough Victor’s already on the case, looking for leads in the hospital about the light. Eve and Ian also saw the light – and even remembered where it is they work – and end up at the hospital too.

At the accident site, Frank and Karen are okay but shaken, not stirred. They hop out of the truck to investigate and oh my gosh they see – something. Roll those pictures.

Rafe informs Ally he’s on furlough but he’s back without his magical ability to perform tricks. This time Allison informs her angel, you are going to do some living. He seems to like that idea. Back at the Lighthouse Kevin has magical fingers or so Lucy says. Just so they are clear Lucy informs Kevin she is Mrs. (kiss) Dr. (kiss) Kevin (kiss) Lucy (kiss) Coe (kiss) Collins – oh yeah Kevin thinks he’s got it (so do I ).

Victor is on the phone calling all his old friends as Frank and Karen bring in newcomers Amy and Casey. Casey and Amy argue over which one of them was at fault for their accident – motorcycle meets pedestrian. Frank informs Casey that her bike is on the back of his truck. Amy can tell without being told that Ian and Eve are husband and wife. Victor is telling someone on the phone that the light was only seen in Port Charles (and I bet on only one side of Port Charles.)

Livvie and Jack arrive at the hospital and Casey takes one look at Jack and decides PC might not be such a bad place after all. Again Casey and Amy exchange words, Casey pointing out that Amy walked right in front of her motorcycle without looking – what is she blind? Well yeah, she is.

Lucy has something to show Kevin, something she has been saving for a special occasion. She models the sheer negligee that she intends to change into upstairs. Kevin has a better idea; she can just change into it right there. Kevin seems hungry as he begins nibbling, first at Lucy’s shoulder then her earlobe and then – oh then – “Mommy!” Kevin wryly states this must be their happily ever after as Lucy goes to check on Christina.

Allison checks her message but is disappointed by the one Jamal left her. Colleen comes in and though she agrees she didn’t see Rafe, insists Allison go to bed. Allison just wants Rafe to stay until she falls asleep which she does instantly; Rafe would stay with her forever if he could. Casey has a place to stay, thanks to Jack. Livvie is very quick to point out that she’ll be staying at Jack's old apartment since Jack has moved out (and in.)

Ian and Eve can’t believe they didn’t notice their new patient was blind. Amy has overprotective parents and a degree in psychology. What she doesn’t have is a place to stay, which she discovers after calling the Port Charles hotel and finding out her room was booked by someone else. Eve, in a move she might live to regret, invites Amy to stay with her and Ian. Amy – again – can tell without being told that Ian and Eve have a son.

Victor invites Frank to go with him to check out where the light hit, if something unusual is happening Victor would rather know sooner than later (smart guy.) Rafe reflects back on the trade he made with Ed – he gave up being a guardian angel forever for this trip back to earth to help Allison out. Amy arrives with the Thornhearts at their apartment and thanks them for everything. When they leave her alone a moment, Amy goes through her purse and realizes her wallet is missing – oh no, she needed everything in that wallet. So where could the wallet be? When Jack and Livvie leave Casey alone for a moment Casey reveals – she has the wallet!

Lucy comes back downstairs and announces Christina is asleep but the fire has gone out says Kevin. Oh no it’s not says the very wise Lucy as she and Kevin once again get back to the business of kissing. And right on cue – someone knocks on the door. We’re not answering says Kevin but Lucy remembers what happened the last time they didn’t answer – a year gone from their lives. They make a pact to always open the door, after all they are together they can take on whatever the universe throws their way. Well this time the universe is throwing someone young, female and a person that Kevin knows – and hugs. Maybe they should rethink that opening the door thing....

Frank and Victor are searching for the place the light hit and find a large scorched patch of earth – that could not have been made by a crater cause it’s smooth. They also find a watch, but oh not just any watch. A watch with only one hand, that goes to 13 and the numbers are counter-crosswise. Weird remarks the ever astute Frank.
