Port Charles Update for Friday, 4-Jan-2002

The mystery of the bright new years eve light that seemed only to hit Port Charles intrigues...Frank tells Karen about the watch he and Victor are checking out and how odd the circumstances are, given the blinding light and place he and Victor found the watch. Victor announces to all who are listening at the Recovery Room that he had a friend check out the watch he and Frank found and that it was made of a material that is not manufactured anywhere here on earth. There appears to be a possible extra terrestrial among them. This peeks everyone's interest.

Lucy continues to be interested in Paige's secret to her fountain of youth. She continues to quiz her and Kevin caught her going through Paige's stuff and chastised her for her snooping (what else is new??) Finally, Lucy offers Paige a job at Jack's cosmetics! Later, Lucy receives a call and tells Paige she knows that her plane was not diverted because of that bright light, and she was lying.

In Chicago, Val pleads with Jamal not to sign away his rights to his daughter Hope. But Jamal tells Val it's the right thing to do. Hope is the Hartman's daughter, they are the only parents Hope knows and he and Val could not take her away from the Hartman's. Val over dramatizes and seeks comfort (yeah, right!) from Jamal as she says she will never see her daughter again. She secretly promises herself she will separate Jamal and Allison to get him back. Jamal talks with the Hartmans and tells them to let Hope know someday that he loved her and did what was right for her.
Allison phoned Jamal, and Valerie intercepted the call, leaving Allison to feel that she is very much NOT a part of Jamal's crises and that he doesn't need her.

Allison hooks up with Rafe (I dont mind this one!) and begins to show him what he missed out on in his last lifetime, all the fun, love and happiness that can be his. Rafe is without his magical powers, but Allison seems to have some tricks up her sleeve and introduces Rafe to hot chocolate with whipped cream and the art of making snow angels. Rafe pleads with Allison to contact Jamal and try to reconnect with him, but that seems to be in the back of Allison's mind at the moment. More "heavenly" thoughts are in the forefront.

Amy, the new gal in town who happens to be blind, is incredibly in"sight"ful and Ian and Eve are amazed at how in tune she is. She discovers her wallet is missing and realizes Casey, the new rebel in town, took it. She quietly tells her at the Recovery Room that she has 5 minutes to return it, and surprisingly enough, Casey returns the wallet.

On the next Port Charles...Lucy questions Paige about whether she is the new "E.T." in town!
