Port Charles Update for Friday, 18-Jan-2002

Poor alone Rafe sits in the Recovery Room once again baring his soul to his journal (which should be pretty darn full by now). He explains how Allison sent him away just as he was about to declare his love for her and reminds himself that Allison loves Jamal, not him. It’s time to move on, so muses he, but he misses her already. Speaking of Allison – and Jamal – there they are, home alone at last and arms wrapped around each other. Jamal promises to put “us” first again, Allison insists no one was to blame they were both distracted (she just had a wee bit more fun with her distraction.)

Continuing our tour around the Recovery Room, we are out in back again where Casey is begging Ricky for a ride – she has to get to the park. Hey but Ricardo is very serious about his gig and proves it by snapping to it when Mrs. B (that is Mrs. Barrington to those of us less cool than Ricky) is ready to head on out. Ricky hops in the limo to discover he has a stowaway – Casey is along for the ride.

It’s time to broaden our horizons so here we are at the Lighthouse, in Kevin’s studio, and Lucy arrives just in time to explain to Paige that Dr. Gordon is a foremost authority on – something skinny and wants to take a sample of Paige’s skin and no it won’t hurt a bit. But there is a big problem; Paige wants both of them to stay away from her (and her skin.) Kevin joins the group and Lucy explains she just wants to find out what the mysterious ingredient in Paige’s skin is. Even Dr. Gordon is amazed how young Paige looks. However Paige still will have none of it so the good doctor shakes Paige’s hand, apologizes and leaves.

Once he’s away, Lucy apologizes too and Paige admits to overreacting. Kevin suggests a glass of wine before dinner, but Paige needs to go find her purse instead. Kevin pays her for leaving (okay he pays her to pay the taxi, but anything that leaves K/L alone together works for me) and then immediately gives Lucy THE look. Lucy knows, she shouldn’t have, but Lucy knows something even weirder than the skin test fiasco, she knows where Paige’s purse is – right there in the room with them.

Allison wants Jamal to make love to her, which of course causes the phone to ring. It’s the hospital giving Jamal a report about Val. Ally is okay with that but thinks maybe she should grab them something to eat to store up energy for the evening’s – exertions. Rafe is still in the Recovery Room and is just rocking enough to have his memories set to music as he reflects back on his relationship with Allison – and viola! – she is standing right there.

Kevin and Lucy discuss Paige’s purse and whether or not she knew it was there. Kevin admits that Paige’s reaction to the skin test was a bit exaggerated but informs Lucy that Paige’s buttons that are being pushed are none of their business (yeah, like that will work.) Lucy showers Kevin with kisses and then leaves him (darn) to work on Paige’s portrait. Mr. Gordon is waiting for her in the hallway; he has something to show Lucy. Ricky and Casey argue about him dropping her off at the park, but Ricky eventually does what he is told. Mrs. B is not happy about the detour but Ricky goes into a long talk about nature and moonlight and beauty and stopping to smell the roses and somehow both avoids getting struck by lightning and manages to get Mrs. B’s approval (she must have been sampling way too much of whatever is in the bar in the back of the limo.) Casey manages to make her escape.

Rafe explains to Ally that his date didn’t work out, Allison hopes they can still be friends (ouch.) Rafe leaves, leaving his journal behind. Allison wonders what he’s been writing in there. Kevin is drawing in his studio and assesses his work as not bad, not good but not bad and sets out to actually paint. Dr. Gordon admits to Lucy he stole skin samples when he shook Paige’s hand, not only does Paige’s skin look 25 it is 25 – Lucy surmises that Paige has found a way to stop the clock. Allison isn’t about to read Rafe’s journal hey it is rude and wrong and – well – just a peek. Oh my God says she (so stunned she says it twice) Rafe is in love with me. Meanwhile Rafe the lovelorn is looking at a watch that is a replica of the 3’s watches and a flash of lightning sends the clock’s hand to 10. Amy and Paige are waiting for Casey in the park – Casey breathlessly informs them that they are not alone, she has seen another one of “us” here. Well that’s one secret down; PC has been touched by many an angel, wonder how many more secrets to go?
