Port Charles Update for Friday, 1-Feb-2002

Casey and Rafe have an angel-ish chat. She's much more upfront about her feelings than he is. They discuss worldly vs. afterworldly sex; Rafe is not admitting to having either kind. She asks him about his real purpose for returning to earth. When he tells her it's to help a friend, she queries as to why, then, does she always see him ALONE?

Ian and Eve introduce Amy and Chris at the hospital. He's sure he knows her from someplace but they don't seem to have any common background. She tells him that she accepted the blind date to see if he's really as bad as his reputation. After they go their separate ways, Chris sorts through a box of his college things. There he finds a group photo that both he and Amy are in.

Lucy finds Kevin trapped in the snow under live electrical wires. As she tries to free him, Paige comes on the scene and freezes to the spot when Lucy demands that she call for an ambulance. Paige finally regains her senses and Lucy calls 911 (who asked no questions about his condition and gave her no instructions to follow til the ambulance arrived). At the hospital, Ian and Eve work on Kevin. Eventually he seems to be stabilizing. Lucy lashes out at Paige with blame. Paige finds Amy, tells her what happened and begins to wonder if she really did try to kill Kevin. She admits to wanting to be with him and knows there's only one way. Meanwhile, Kevin seems to be having some sort of a setback.

Amy is in the park, talking to someone who isn't there. She tells the person that she misses them and thinks of them always but promises everything will be fine and that she won't forget why she's there. It becomes clear that she is speaking "to" her father.

Alison tries to reason with Jamal, who says they must pay the price for Valerie's death. Alison refuses to take responsibility but Jamal blames himself and Alison; he feels that he should have listened to his own gut instinct but instead he listened to Alison and now because of that, Valerie is dead. If not for Alison, he'd never have turned his back on Valerie the way he did. No good has come out of their being together and they have no good reason to stay together, he tells Alison. She begs him not to make any rash decisions and tells him that Valerie brought her fate on herself. Jamal gets angry and shoves Alison to the floor. Rafe hears the scream and bursts into the room, demanding to know what Jamal did to her. Although Alison tries to defend Jamal, Rafe gets him in a strangle hold and screams repeatedly that if Jamal ever hurts her, Rafe will kill him.

Tomorrow, Amy denies being where Chris has clearly seen her; Jamal tells Alison that he doesn't love her anymore and Livvie, Lucy and Jack gather around Kevin, whose life appears to hang in the balance.
