Port Charles Update for Friday, 8-Feb-2002

Paige visits Kevin in the hospital. She tells him that she feels like he and Lucy need to spend their time together and she is leaving without finishing her portrait. Kevin tells Paige about the tunnel and how he knew he was dying and it seemed like she was trying to help him cross over (exact words). He said it wasn’t an easy choice not to go with her. He tells her that she looked like an angel, and she gets very agitated. He temporarily calms her down and persuades her not to leave just yet. When she stands up, Kevin realizes that she’s wearing the same dress that she was wearing in his “dream.”

As Ian and Amy drive to see her “patient,” they discuss the strain between Ian and Eve. Ian is uncomfortable, but once he opens up about their trust issues, it’s Amy who feels awkward and insists that Ian stop the car. She tells Ian that she hasn’t been honest with him, and admits that she accepted a date with Chris only to distract herself from Ian and that she lied about needing him to drive her to see a patient in order to spend some time alone with him.

Rafe makes a fire in the stable. Alison has come to realize that the best in her life is still ahead of her and she has to move forward, not backwards. They discuss how much time he has left on earth, and she shows her his watch. When she asks if his trip was worth it, he tells her it’s been painful, that realizing he could not have her hurt worse than dying. Alison admits to having read his journal and has been running from his feelings for her. Rafe is relieved that the truth is out, now he can be honest about his feelings for her. He tells her that perhaps he, and not Jamal, is her destiny. Her response is to kiss him. Rafe stops her, but she tells him that she has been denying her true feelings, that she wants to be more than friends. Rafe can’t believe his ears, but it’s true and Ali wants him, right now.

Jack and Livvie try to convince Jamal not to leave town, at least not without talking to Alison first. They remind him that Alison was the center of his life and even if they don’t have a future together, they should at least part with some closure. Livvie tells Jamal that she knows where Alison is and gives him a piece of paper. Jamal grudgingly agrees to see Alison.

Tomorrow, Kevin realizes people in “the tunnel” (like Paige) are already dead; Amy admits to wanting more than friendship; Ali and Rafe finally give in and have a romp in the hay.
