Port Charles Update for Friday, 12-Apr-2002

Franks walks in on Karen and Ricky, and is immediately suspicious. Karen insists there was nothing going on other than 2 friends sharing their loss, but Frank has a few choice words for Ricky anyway. Ricky apologizes and makes his exit, without Casey’s things. Frank apologizes to Karen and they prepare for some long-overdue romance. She lights the Desire candle. As things start to really heat up, Frank feels funny. He’s making odd faces and can’t breathe. He yells for Karen to stop, to get away from him. He’s panicking, can’t catch his breath. As he starts to calm down, he’s embarrassed but they start again. He is almost choking when Ricky walks in. Frank screams at Karen and calls her a whore and tells her to cover herself up (she’s in very modest jimmies). Ricky threatens to pound him for talking to Karen like that and tries to get her out, but before they can leave, Frank collapses on the floor.

As Jack works in the darkroom, an image of Rebecca develops, however, when he hangs the picture, she disappears. Meanwhile, after her nightmare, Livvie approaches the fire and sees the image of Alison calling for help. She puts her hand into the fire and is burned. Hearing her scream, Jack rushes to Livvie as she cries over Alison. He tries to calm her and treat her burned hand. She tells him of the dream and how she woke and saw the image of Alison in the fireplace. She’s terrified that Alison is being controlled by some evil force and is getting sucked in too deep to get herself out. Jack thinks that Livvie is over reacting, but does think there is some cause for concern. He thinks the camera may hold the key and goes back to the darkroom to try to figure out how they can best help Alison. Livvie replays the dream in her mind, then douses the fire with water and decides that whether Alison likes it or not, Livvie’s going to help her before it’s too late.

As Alison sleeps before the Love candle, Rafe approaches and wakes her. She asks if he’s come back with his magic to make all of her dreams come true, and he tells her that it doesn’t matter how he came back. Alison and Rafe share some tender moments. He magically makes one of her favorite pink roses appear. They dance. As he dips her very low, she laughingly begs him not to let her go, not ever. Talking in her sleep, she awakens, devastated to realize that Rafe’s presence was just a dream. But she can still feel him. She begs the portrait of Rebecca to tell her what happened, how it could have been a dream. Then, next to the candle, which has extinguished itself, is the pink rose. He was there, he was real. The portrait smiles at her.

Next, Alison has questions for Rebecca and Ian announces that he and Danny are making a journey home.
