Port Charles; Wednesday August 14, 2002.

Ricky tells Marissa about his first meeting with Casey, and how in love they were. He says that Karen is great, amazing, and different – but Casey was one of a kind – well, actually, two of a kind since Casey and Marissa were identical twins. Ricky shows Casey some of Marissa’s things that were left behind. Ricky is overcome when Marissa tries on Casey’s outfit. Jamal arrives, shocked to see Marissa at Ricky’s. but when he tries to leave, Marissa admits her feelings for Jamal. Jamal brushes off her comments, and Marissa realizes that Jamal is afraid that he will be hurt like he was by Alison.

Alison and Danny are backed to the edge of a cliff by the Avatar when Rafe, Ian and Kate come to the rescue. The Avatar says he’s showing them what happens when he is disobeyed. Ian grabs Danny and takes him to safety, but Alison loses her footing and falls from the cliff as Rafe tries desperately to catch her. She is losing her grip, when Rafe begs her to hang on and come back to him since he came back for her! In some magical way, he manages to save her, and she rushes into his arms. Alison realizes that the Avatar put her, not Livvie, in danger because she is Rafe’s true love, and that it was his true love that allowed him to save her. But Rafe says that he must go home to Livvie as he left without telling her where he was going. He does ask her if he can take her home, but she says no, thanks him, and leaves, with her heart breaking.

Karen goes for pizza, and hears that people are starting to doubt the Avatar’s motives. Frank arrives and tells Karen he still misses and loves her. Karen thinks Frank is ‘different’, but he says he’s just being honest, trying to be more like ‘Lancelot’. Karen tells Frank she has felt a connection to ‘Lancelot’ since their encounter in the park. Frank leaves, returning as the Avatar, and Karen feels his presence.

Ian and Kate take Danny home. Ian asks Kate to watch Danny while he returns to help Rafe and Alison, but Kate begs him to stay, and asks him to dance with her instead of risking his life. Kate realizes she’s revealed her feelings to him, and leaves, making a one way plane reservation home to New York.
