Port Charles, Wednesday August 28/02
Ian tells Kevin that they have the Avatar imprisoned at the old Grain Silo, and he suspects that Frank is the Avatar’s alterego.
Chris tells Jack he can’t go to Bermuda as he has other priorities – like press coverage for “Lancelot”. Marissa arrives to interview Chris, and they wonder where Lancelot has been – Chris says Lancelot is just taking a break, and will be back! Marissa comments that she’s beginning to see the other side of Lancelot – and so are other people. Chris tells Jamal Alison changed her mind about Bermuda, because of Rafe, and Jamal is not surprised. Jack brings Chris a drink, and says the trip to Bermuda could be a bonding time for the brothers. Jamal hears about the fire, and that the Avatar/Lancelot is caught right in the middle. When they hear that Lancelot may be dead, Chris admits that he bought up a lot of property, intending to market Port Charles as the safest place in America to live. Ricky looks for Karen at the pub.
As the fire rages at the silo, Alison arrives to find Livvie frantically trying to rouse Rafe. Ian dashes in and drags Rafe to freedom, then races back in to the fire. Rafe comes to in Alison’s arms as Livvie looks on sadly. Rafe remembers that someone hit him from behind as he was questioning the Avatar. Livvie tells Rafe that Alison saved their lives. Kevin’s in a panic when he realizes that Livvie was in the blaze. Rafe is grateful to Alison for risking her life to save him, but she says she owed him from the cliff rescue, so they’re even. Alison says it’s almost like ‘someone up there’ sent her to help him, and as they talk, Rafe begins to lean in as though to kiss her. Privately, Livvie again thanks Alison for saving their lives, but says she can’t understand why Alison would risk her life to save hers, when Livvie’s death would have solved a lot of Alison’s problems. Alison can’t believe Livvie would even ask, and Livvie admits she’s not sure she would have saved Alison if the situation were reversed. Alison tells Livvie that that would endanger her soul. Livvie says she only believes in the here and now, and has never thought about the soul. Alison says she should start. The firemen say that anyone trapped within the silo would not have survived, but somehow Karen has rescued the Avatar/Frank and is desperately trying to revive him.
