Port Charles Update for Thursday, 7-Nov-2002

Jack arrives home to tell Tess that he gave Ian the sample of her hair so he could run the DNA test (to see if Livvie is her sister). He searches for her, and is surprised to find she is not there.

Chris and Tess arrive at Chris's apartment. He shows her the view, offers her some water, then tells her he wants to talk to her about her "special ability". She asks where Jack is, and Chris tells her he'll be there soon.

Elizabeth talks aloud while she's writing down the list of the women her husband had affairs with. Allison and Rafe look on; Ali looks more and more upset the more names Elizabeth mentions; Rafe puts an arm around her to comfort her. Then Elizabeth mentions "the woman your father was with before me". She doesn't know this woman's name, what she looks like, or where she lives, but tells Ali that her father always said to Elizabeth that he loved this woman very much. Then Elizabeth says she has to leave to go check her messages; she is hoping to hear from the guy she slept with before (Stephen Clay). After she leaves, Ali and Rafe discuss how hard it is on Ali to hear about her father's many affairs. Ali says it is worth it, as it is the only way she can find her brother or sister. She also admits that she is beginning to have a little sympathy for Elizabeth, as she is starting to understand what she had to put up with over the years.

Stephen and Marissa are sitting on a bench in the park. He tells her he loves her new lyrics, she says his music inspires her. Stephen apologizes for Joshua interupting Marissa and Jamal the other evening. He tells her he believes that she deserves to have a life outside the band, and that Joshua's problem is that he doesn't.

They start to work on lyrics for the second verse of the song, when Ricky and Reese barge in. Ricky tells Marissa he is angry that she made Stephen let him in the band. He never would have accepted the offer if he'd known he only got it because of Marissa. Ricky says he quits the band; Stephen rolls his eyes.

Jack calls Lucy to tell her Tess is missing and he is worried. He says Tess promised him she would stay in the house and wait for him, and the only thing that makes sense is that someone took her.

Chris is still playing nice with Tess, telling her she is special and he wants to talk to her and get to know her. He asks her how she heals people, who was the first person she healed, does she feel an energy transfer or heat when she heals....to which her only reply is "don't know" and "where's Jack". He tries to bond with her by telling her he's a doctor, and he heals people too, and tells her Jack will be there soon. All the while he is moving closer to where she is sitting, with a hidden scalpel in his hand.

Back in the park, Marissa tells Ricky he has every reason to be angry with her, but she thinks he is very talented and doesn't want him to quit the band. While they go back and forth, Stephen tells Reese in the background to get Ricky out of there, he (Stephen) doesn't have time for this. Reese says she tried, but Ricky is really angry. Stephen says "so am I" (with that evil gleam in his eye) and goes over to Ricky and Marissa. He tells Ricky he's not quitting anything, and they can continue the discussion AFTER the band practice. Ricky insults Stephen, says "to h(eck) with all 3 of them" and shoves Marissa's hand off his arm. At this point, Stephen grabs Ricky's wrist in what appears to be a very strong grip.

Rafe and Allison discuss his running into Stephen at the gym. Rafe apologizes for dumping this on Ali while she is dealing with her mother, her father's death, and the search for her missing sibling. Rafe then tries to change the subject by telling Ali she is "his love, his life, his beautiful girl" and embraces her.

Ricky tells Stephen to let go of his hand, or he'll break it. Stephen says "I Know" but then lets Ricky go, saying that Ricky wouldn't be much of a drummer with a broken hand. He then says they have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that night, and need to go set up the equipment. Stephen tells Ricky he's sorry for the hand thing, explaining he is very intense about whatever is happening that night, and his excitement got the better of him. Ricky tells him it's cool. Then Stephen takes Ricky aside and tells him if Ricky ever challenges him again like that, Stephen will rip his whole arm off. Ricky needs to decide if he wants to make history with the band, or look for work as a one-armed drummer.

Lucy arrives at Jack's. She tells him she checked along the roads on her way there, and didn't see Tess. Jack says he already checked the cave where he first met her, with no luck. Jack thinks Livvie may have taken her, but Lucy assures him that Livvie is out of town visiting Kevin. They brainstorm about who knew of Tess's "special ability" and may have taken her. They realize that Jack told Chris about the broken leg incident, and the two take off to find Chris.

Chris reassures Tess she has nothing to be afraid of, that Jack will be there soon, and in the meantime he just wants to talk to her. She says she wants to go home. He tells her he wants to see if her gift is for real, and takes out the scalpel. He rolls up his sleeve, telling her he's going to cut his arm and see if she can heal him. She says "no" and covers her eyes.

Chris makes a small cut on his arm, Tess starts crying. He asks her if she can heal him. She says she will "fix" him, but that it is "very bad" to hurt himself. Then, with tears in her eyes, she says "you hurt yourself all the time. Why do you do that?" He says "WHAT?" and she replies "you feel bad all the time, in here" and puts her hand over his heart. He asks her how she knew that, then says "please help me". She tells him she can fix his cut (she puts her hand over the cut) but she can't fix his heart. He is almost crying too by now. She removes her hand, his cut is gone, she kisses his hand and says "Jack's brother better". She picks up her doll and leaves, and he doesn't try to stop her.

Jack and Lucy rush in seconds later (how did they miss seeing Tess in the hall?) demanding to know where Tess is. Chris, in tears, tells them Tess is gone, he didn't hurt her, and Tess is a miracle. Jack and Lucy rush out, saying they are going to the hospital (I guess to look for Tess there?).

Marissa asks Stephen and Ricky if everything is okay. Stephen says it is, and Ricky doesn't contradict him. Stephen sends them to meet up with Joshua to get ready for "tonight". Ricky and Marissa leave, and Stephen corners Reese. He tells her he knows she told Ricky about his deal with Marissa. He tells her she had better not let her interest in Ricky get in the way of her judgment again. She is cute, but not irreplaceable. She is sent to "make sure everything goes exactly as planned tonight".

Alone now, Stephen puts on his sunglasses and makes a phone call. All we hear is him saying "hello, beautiful".

Marissa tries apologizing to Ricky again. He tells her he is not staying in the band because she wants him to, or because Stephen told him to. He is staying because he wants to prove to them all that he is NOT a charity case. Even if he only got the job through a favor from Marissa, he is going to show them that he deserves it.

Elizabeth, back with Rafe and Allison, hangs up the phone. She tells the two that her "mystery guy" called. Elizabeth says she knew that this man was "one of the good guys". He wants to see her again, and she's planning on going out with him that night. Rafe reminds her that she is supposed to be helping Ali in the sibling search. Elizabeth replies that they have enough info already to get started, and she thinks they should take the night off and have a little fun. She tells them that her guy sings in a band, and has invited all three of them to go to his concert that evening. She tells them that the man insisted that Rafe and Ali come to the show, and she thinks it's a lovely gesture. When Rafe asks, she tells them the name of the band, and that her mystery date is Stephen Clay. She asks Rafe and Ali if they've heard of him; Rafe just shakes his head.

Stephen, still alone in the park, says to himself, "It's almost time. It's almost time, Port Charles. Here I come."

Ian tells Chris he has Tess's DNA results. Chris tells Ian not to look at them, if he does, he will regret it.

At the concert, Elizabeth waves to Stephen. Lucy, Rafe, Jack and Livvie and/or Tess look at Stephen in shock, and Rafe says, "It's him".
