Today’s theme: Get right back where you started from.
And what a theme it is.
Alison - still a wee bit grumpy - spots pink roses in a vase and becomes ten times grumpier. She informs Rafe that he really, really shouldn’t have. Rafe claims he didn’t - but Aly doesn’t believe him. Meanwhile Livvie is ticked that Caleb is willing to play for the enemy, and also that he dares to make decisions without her. Back at the picnic, Ian and Kevin make another attempt at small talk - this time about the serum Chris is working on. Speaking of the dev - er - Chris, he calls Ian and he’s all happy because he’s found Ian’s four leaf clover. Ian is reluctant to leave all the fun of the picnic, but Kevin and Lucy reassure him that everything will be okay since he has a hospital emergency and all. Ian goes, and Kevin and Lucy realize that hey they are all alone (as alone as they can be with Christina there.)
Kevin suggests to Lucy that Ian is still waiting for Evil Kevin to reemerge. Lucy acknowledges this is so, but points out Ian is trying, heck he even left them alone. After prodding from Kevy, Lucy admits she isn’t worried about being alone with Kevin - that she overheard his recent phone conversation with Christina which reminded her that Kevin was partly responsible for bringing Christina to her and that Christina and Kevin love each other. Kevin becoming real Kevin again also reminded Lucy that dreams can come true, Kevin wishes it was that simple. Christina whispers “come true” a few times to the ready and waiting ring.
Caleb wonders if Livvie is jealous of the ring now and assures her that she doesn’t have to compete with anything. If Livvie had the ring she’d wish for a very rich, very old man - or diamonds. After a bit of kissing and neck nibbling, Livvie admits she has only one real wish - that things could go back to the way they began for them. Aly and Rafe’s discussion disintegrates into a fight about magic, roses and Caleb. Alison angrily suggests that Rafe doesn’t know what she needs. What she needs is things to be the way they used to be. The ice between Rafe and Alison begins melting as they recall their meeting, their first kiss, the first time they made love but Aly deep freezes again when Rafe mentions the word “magic.”
Meanwhile, back in the hanging white strips of sheets that are just so darn exotic, Caleb and Livvie play hide’n’seek. Chris explains all the scientific stuff he did to come up with his formula to a happier-every-second Ian. Ian wants to try the formula right away, but Chris insists that it be tested first. Heck, it’s not like there is any big rush - Lucy won’t be going anywhere tomorrow (cue the foreboding).
Kevin, Lucy points out, is living proof dreams can come true. She’s happy that they might be on the road to being friends again. She did wish Kevin back to realKevin and Kevin admits he is - but he does miss some things. Like seeing Lucy when he came home, tofu turkey and - oh yeah - the way that they used to kiss. Christina (bright child that she is) thinks that’s a great idea and wishes Mommy and Daddy would kiss. Kevin and Lucy exchange puzzled looks as their lips grow closer - closer - closer together.
Speaking of kissing, Ian could kiss Chris but Chris would rather he didn’t. They agree not to tell Lucy until they know for sure the serum will work. As Ian leaves, Chris’ cell phone rings - it’s for George. Chris channels George quickly and effectively, arranges an interview, and then wonders why reporters are asking for George on his cell phone. Alison - with the card she found by the door in hand - goes back into their room where Rafe immediately “admits” he sent the flowers and he’s sorry. Alison thinks it’s wonderful that he would say anything just to end their fight, turns out the flowers were from Elizabeth. Rafe doesn’t remember a fight, he does remember however that the two of them don’t need magic because they are magic. Kissing ensues. More kissing in the exotic hanging sheets. Some neck biting too.
Now for the good stuff - Lucy, ever inching closer, insists that she can’t. Can’t what asks Kevin, puzzled look still in place. Kiss. And they do. And then they really do. And then - oh my goodness looks on their faces they pop apart. Lucy apologizes, she just meant to thank Kevin (he feels thank-ed I am sure). They agree it’s time to end the picnic, Kevin wants to help pack up, Lucy just wants him gone. Kevin insists it will all be okay, and hey you might want to answer the phone. It’s Ian of course, yes Ian Lucy says, Kevin is behaving and oh how I love you. Her eyes find Kevin’s and then -
Over and out of course.
