[Open with [yay!] Kevin, in his chair, in the hospital, being pushed past the nurses’ desk on 6 by Lisa therapy nurse] [they stop]

Kevin: [moves his hand slightly] 50% range of motion and counting! [Proudly announces]

Lisa: your therapy is going so well, I bet you’ll be going home soon. [She smiles and pats his shoulder and he returns the smile and murmurs ‘yeah’ and she leaves]

K [to himself] it may be a house, doesn’t make it a home..

[Cut to Lucy, who is staring at [the wall?] while se look at her through a window. Ian enters from behind her – carrying two suitcases]

I: Lucy

L: all packed?

I: yeah, I’m all packed

L: you know, if you forget anything, I can make sure and send ….

I: no, I got all of it

L: You know – I can make you a snack or something to take with you --- [she is dragging it out]

I [is no fool and knows what she is doing] I don’t want to drag this out - - I just - - I got to do a couple of things and then I’m leaving. I have to find the courage to do two things [TK is just great]

[Lucy eyes are full of unshed tears, though a couple are escaping now and then]

L: What - what are the two things?

I: One is to say good-bye to my son - - and - - I have to say good-bye to you.

[Lucy looks stricken – even more than before so, and she looked pretty bad already.] [That Lynn Herring is just marvelous!]

[But nooooooooo….. We have to move to Casey and rIcky now; we can’t stay here and let poor Ian say his sad farewells.]

[Outside the Elixir, rIcky drops his seat down on to the bench with a thud as his spirits also fall]

r: See, I don’t know what’s going on anymore!

C: Baby, baby, baby [she drops to her knees and takes his chin in her had] look into my eyes [she pulls his face toward hers, so he pretty much can’t avoid doing so. [Holds out one arm] touch me, it’s cool, go ahead [he does] Now don’t tell me that that doesn’t feel any different from when you were putting your hands on that fantasy girl!

The elevator slowly makes it to the top for rIcky, he realizes that he dreamed up his fantasy girl, and Casey tells him that she [the real Casey] is now there to set him straight and free - - she tells him he has to let go and this time for good – or else it’s going to bring him down.

[Meanwhile inside the Elixir, Jack [a/k/a Bull] asks a waitress to cover for him – he has spotted Olivia on one of the customer couches and goes over to her]

He seats himself on the couch to the right of her, and gives her a cheerful Heeeeey, Livvie!

She acknowledges him with “look who it is – the jerk from the other night – what was your name again?” [Bull]

L: John
B: no, that’s not it
L: Joe?
B: no
L: Jerk?! - - no, it’s Jack. Hi. [hey, hey, enjoy this – it’s the snappy banter ala PC]
B: same jerk who wished didn’t hate her anymore

L: [with a look that would kill, if looks could kill] same jerk who made me thing he was falling in love with me again.

B: oh, come on. You got to admit it was a good joke.

L: It was a badjoke, Bull, ba-a-a-a-ad.

B: I don’t hate you for saying that – I don’t.

L: oh. Thanks. [more banter would be here, but the arrival of the waitress saves us]

B: would you like a drink?

L: chardonnay, please
[waitress leaves]

B: so, I’m guessing that you were upset because of Caleb. Just a guess.

L: [deadpan] not everything that makes me upset has to do with Caleb. [no, sometimes she’s upset because of her own darn self]

B: so, the other night, after you left me – you went back to Caleb

L: how do you know where I went? [impressed, a little]

B: Because II know you – it would be my guess that you tried to put the moves on Caleb and he didn’t buy it

L: the story of my life

B: now you’re here with your old buddy, Bull for advice. Next time Caleb tells you it’s over there are two, not one, but two words you need to say [wait a minute! I don’t think you can say those two words on Network, TV. Maybe on Cable, but not on ….]

L: oh! here we go again! OK, Bull, I’m ready.

B: Thank. You. [I was 50% right] [he laughs] Thank you. Thank you! [he is amused]

[she is NOT]

[Cut to a woman on Caleb’s couch [with Caleb] singing rock [badly] and accompanying herself with equally awful guitar playing for Caleb:

Tug on my heart
Drain me dry
Then die, die die!

Woman: isn’t that great?!

C; that was very … uh… uh …

W: it was great!

C: great’s a word

W: come on – am I – or am I not – just what you’re looking for in your new steamy [leans in to his face] red hot band?

C: I think I could get used to playing with you [Like she’s Little Friskies and he’s Garfield]

W: S, does that mean I pass the audition?

C: it might – [looks at her neck] I’d like to see you work on your technique a little - -

W: mmmm hmmmm [moves closer to him]

C: but you’d definitely be on your way [she has her hands on his shoulders now getter even closer] to great [they kiss] he leans back and pulls her with him as he falls against the seat] great things… [and they kiss some more]

[Livvie’s voice interrupts Caleb, but not the woman] I’ll haunt you wherever you go, Caleb – you can never, ever get rid of me …]

C: stop [he puts his hand on her shoulder to stop her]

W: Hey! What did I do? What’s wrong?

[Back at Lucy’s, she is all smiles as she carries Danny into the room. Ian leaning forward, his face to the camera and his back to them looks like death]

He turns and sets his face in a happy expression as Lucy says brightly “look what we have here” Ian holds out his arms for Danny and says “young man, come to me” Danny leans forward and Lucy hands him over to Ian.

Lucy tells Ian that she has very strict instructions from Christina to get Danny back as they are playing school and Christina wants him back at his desk before he is tardy.

Ian jokes that Danny has to behave himself and not get thrown out of school like his Da.

Ian sits down with Danny on his lap and tells him that he is going to talk to him for a minute and then after they are done, Danny will be so busy playing, he probably won’t even know that Ian is gone.

He stands Danny on the table in front of the chair that he is in. He tells Danny that Christina* and Lucy are going to be taking care of Danny for a while, but in no time, Danny will be back in his arms [suiting actions to words, he embraces Danny, and tells him that he loves him. He repeats it. Danny coos [this is so cute]

*And Christina appears to be a great deal more self-disciplined – and stricter – than Lucy.

Behind them, we see Lucy’s face, crumpled in a heartbroken look as she watches the good-byes ….

And [speaking of breaking hearts] we have say good-bye to them [again] to go to Casey and rIcky,

rIcky asks Casey if she came down to Earth again for him? She says she put in a request to slap some sense into him the first time he whipped up the mirage of her. But Heaven is backlogged right now – she is not even supposed to be there right now, but she couldn’t watch him make a mess of everything [unlike what he has bee doing so far?!]

rIcky explains that he is trying. She says she knows he is, and he is off to a really great start, bouncing out of the vampire band he was in [yeah, like he planned that out and made a positive life choice]

rIcky asks: who needs to be on top of the charts, anyway [sarcastically]

Casey reminds him that he wanted to be the start of his own show – and this is his big chance – the only way he is weighing himself down is by tying himself to the past. She tells him it is not the way to go – and she knows he felt that all along.

rIcky tells her that part of him always knew that he was making her up. [yes sirreee, no one needs psychiatrists anymore, all they need is an Angel to point out that they knew they were psychotic all along. Then they can just decide not to be psychotic anymore. Sheeeeesh!]

Casey tells him he has to let go. He asks her how is he to do that? He loves her. He would do anything to be with her and went so far as making her up out of thin air. He says there has GOT to be some way they can be together.

Casey looks away and says ‘yeah’ sure.

rIcky: Tell me!

Casey: Die! Finish it! Is that what you want?! Is that what you really, really want?!

[Right now, it is what I want, but we don’t have to go to those extremes, thank you, as we get to leave them and move back to the Banter Inside The Bar – and I can’t believe that I an HAPPY to get back to that? But I am.]

L; You see, you don’t know a thing about my relationship, Bull.
B: [laughs] I know you’re as addicted to Caleb as I was to you. Only I had the good sense to get out it after being kicked in the teeth a few hundred times. See, no matter WHAT he tells you, you always ……

L: [interrupting, impatient] I know. I know! I KNOW!

B: You don’t know! As long as Caleb has the ring – he has the power – he controls the show. [he still wants the ring]

L: I know, so what’s your point?

B: My point is, you have your own life, your own show. [she does, too, she signed with GH] You need to start controlling it. [Livvie puts her head back and sighs a big sigh] You need to start running it – now! We need to find you something to do except fawn over Caleb full-time [LMAO!]

L: yeah, sure. [rests her head on one hand] like what? [as if she knows this, but can’t think of a thing she can do]

B: Like maybe you should come with me tonight. Down by the river there is a gallery opening – a photo gallery. And it would be fun.

L: [perks up, for the first time looks interested and hopeful]

B: maybe you should just tag along [Tag-a-long? is it Girls Scout Cookie time? You know I can’t imagine Livvie in the Scouts…]

L: Tag? So, what? It wouldn’t be a date, or anything right [like half hoping it is, and half hoping it is not.

B: you can call it what you want [he’s smiling and a little too smooth here – I do suspect he’s after the ring] if you want it to be a date – which it does sound like you want it to be a date …

L: [non committal sort of grunt] un huh

B: …. Or you can feel sorry for yourself and sit here and wait for Caleb. Your choice. It’s time for you to start controlling your own life. Be your own person. So, what’s it gonna be Livvie? You coming or not? Yes or no? [Are you going to let Caleb manipulate you, or are you going to let ME do it?] [he takes a drink of his water as we watch Livvie think it over and we fade into the Revlon Commercial …………..

[House of Coe]

[Lucy is surreptitiously slipping a framed photo of L’ian into one of Ian’s suitcases as Ian enters. She faces us [again] as Ian enters from behind her.

[Does this pattern (this has been the third time in this episode mean anything? (I mean in the story, not that the maybe they are simply using one set up over and over to get this out of the way faster) ]

[He does not see her put the picture in and moves up to her,]

He tells her that it makes it easier for him; know that Danny will be OK when --

She turns to face him and interrupts, telling him “not to say it”. He tells her that it is like he told Danny – they are still together’ they are just not living in the same place, anymore. But they can’t take a chance – not with the children. But they will find a way out of this.

Lucy agrees [reluctantly] and he reiterates that he will find a way out of this – he will – he embraces her and tells her to trust him. He pushes her slightly back and tells her not to cry [she has begun to] he frames her face with his hands, and restates that he will find a way – he has to – and that he loves her – loves her way too much. {I agree, but I think with a whole different meaning] [they kiss]

She pulls back and tells him that she loves him way too much, too. They kiss and hug again. They are still hugging [and crying] when Kevin wheels in, calling “Christina” [just to let us know that it’s the kid he wants to see, of course, and not an incredible coincidence that he is arriving just in time to view this]

L’ian break apart and look at Kevin. Lucy sniffs loudly several times, whimpers and grasps at the front of Ian’s shirt, and Ian gives Kevin a dirty look. Kevin looks pensive [and handsome, of course] and ……

[Drat! Drat and Drat! We cut to rIcky and Casey!][rIcky gets off the bench where she is sitting beside him – he goes to stand opposite to]

rIcky explains to Casey that he knows she is right, but letting go is not that easy. That they were great [Remember, he was participating, not watching] She was great.

She tells him that she still is. But there are a lot of other kinds of greats in the world waiting for him [that ‘great’ woman who sang for Caleb, for instance]
She tells him that “Sweetie, it is time to rejoin the party!” That he has a golden ticket! [He is going to the Wonka Factory Tour?! Bet he ends up where all bad eggs go!] She tells him to “say yes! Let it happen!”

He wants to know: “Let what happen?”

She tells him: “Happiness, rIcky! The life that you was born to have! There are all these kind souls, waiting down here – waiting to cross your path – to walk with you! Why would you want to do that alone – all by yourself?!

R: Wait a minute!? Who left who? [or is that “whom?”] Huh?

C: look, sweetie – I’m telling you: let it go [Pleeeese do - this is killing me to recap!]

[Here’s an intelligent response]
r: no – no – no – no – no way, Casey, no.

C: [takes his face between her hands] rIcky, you will find love - I know [but wouldn’t that mean our lives are pre-destined? ] and I can deal with that – I want that for you – I want you to feel all the love in the world in your life.

R: you do?

C: Don’t you think you deserve it?

R: I guess

C; no - I know. I’m glad it wasn’t with Reese, though. [nice, isn’t she?]

rIcky [embraces her] I know.

Casey [in his embrace] but you’ll find it with somebody else

R: right, because you know

C: [steps back from him, jams her finger into his chest] but if you even mess up ONE time….. !

R: I know. I know – you’ll send me a message – an email or something

C; I’ll find a way – you can trust that.

r: [he hugs her again] I will, I will.

[at last we put and end to the string of “knows and no’s” that this past scene’s consisted of [including my cries of: no! no! I can’t stand anymore!] to move back to see what Livvie has decided. Who wants to bet she’s be waitin’ on the levee [to see the gallery] tonight? ]

Livvie: I don’t know [groan]

Bull: what are you, afraid? [na-na, na-na, boo, boo, Livvie!] start calling your own shots [do what I say] start living your life again.

L: not afraid – it might – it might be possible ….

B: might?! What’s wrong with having a little fun? [throws arms wide, grins widely, too] Going out and laughing! Smiling! Wait a sec – you still know how to smile, don’t ya? [smiles] ah, come on - let me teach ya! [Ooozing charm like oil from a leaky Penzoil canister] [Livvie curls her lip up – this is cute, even] Do I need to teach you how to smile [flirty]

L; stop it [falling for it] ok – maybe - it wouldn’t hurt – a little I guess.

B: so that’s a yes?
L; [standing, he stands too] that’s a yes – thanks for asking

[Cut to Caleb, ushering the woman out the door in double time]

W: what did I do wrong!?
C; you didn’t do anything wrong – I want to thank you for coming by – I just – just remembered there is something I need to take care of. You did a great job – thanks. [shuts the door with her on the outside]

[we see Caleb looking at the door as she cries plaintively: “but I have another song!”]

Caleb rubs his face and mutters “great job, Olivia [it was – it saved us from the blonde woman’s encore, didn’t it!?] [BTW, the word of the day, children, is Great - at least the adjective is. Know/no is very popular, too.] … of messing with my head.

Now, in case we forgot - or can’t tell what he problem is - we get flashback of Caleb and Livvie making love while Livvie’s voice over plays “I will haunt you forever - you can never get rid of me.”

Caleb finishes his flashback and then strolls over and grabs his wallet and keys, vowing: “We’ll see, Olivia, we’ll see.” He turns and heads for the door. “I’ll get rid of you!” and out he goes, while we go to more commercials…..

Casey and rIcky: [she steps back from his embrace, they hold hands and look at each other.

R: I guess – [clears throat] this is the last time that I’m going to see you. It’s going to be really weird at first, [news for you, rIcky: it’s been really weird all along] turning around, and not seeing you there …

C: trust me [kisses his hand] you’ll be just fine [she takes another step back] [and another]

R: wait! Wait! Wait! Where’re you going?! [duh]

C: Baby, my time’s up.

R: wait a minute! I forgot to give you something!

C: we can’t take stuff - - [he kisses her] they end the kiss and stare deeply into one another’s eyes for a long time [run on the harp strings and Casey fades out of the scene [really, special F/X, even – there goes the budget!]

rIcky slowly turns and looks up into the sky: “Good-bye, Case. You’ll always be riding behind me. [I am not making this up – that’s really the ‘romantic’ thing he said]

[A woman [we don’t know her] comes up to him, recognizes him, and asks for his autograph]

rIcky: [more Garza “charm”] hey – why not? You got the ink – I got the time.

[Back at the House of Coe]

[Lucy leaves Ian’s side and approaches Kevin.

L: Kevin - -

K: I’m sorry. Christina called and asked me to come over. If I had known [that you guys were standing here crying?] I would never have come over [I don’t blame him, it’s hardly been a cheery show]

L: [voice breaking] that’s fine. Ian was just – [can’t finish]

I: Ian was just leaving.
L: [turns away from Kevin – goes to Ian who is reaching for his bags] no – no, no yet – no quite yet. You weren’t quite ready to go [quietly desperate – LH is amazing!]

K: [quietly, beginning to move his chair] I’m going to give you some private time…

I; [looks into Lucy’s face] I’m sorry [leaves her and walks over to Kevin] Collins. Ahem [he says “ahem, really] About what happened the other day …

K: no, no, forget it – let it go. [attempted murder being such a routine thing in his life by now. No kidding.]

Ian nods agreement, says nothing. Kevin turns his chair and leaves the room. Ian turns back to Lucy, who has her back to him [again] and is biting her lips to keep from crying some more.

I: all right [he moves over to her, faces her]

L: nmmm – mmm, [shakes her head “no”] I’m not ready

I: I am going to leave.

L: I’m sorry – look, I know I wasn’t going to do this, and I know you’re right and this is the right thing to do but I didn’t think would really happen and now it’s happening! Ian! [she wraps her arms around his neck as he embraces her –she is sobbing against him]

I: There is nothing else we can do

L: I know that - I know. I know

I: [He pulls her back from himself] ok.

L: [openly weeping now] no! no – no - no - no ok. Not yet!

I: Shhhh, [his eyes burn with tears] [he pulls her face close to his, kisses her]

L: [she touches his lips with her hand] [gulps] no - -

[They caress each other’ face and hair as they look deep into each other’s eyes – he moves away as she repeats “no!’]

He grabs his suitcases and moves to the door as she stands and reaches for him, then her arm falls. As he reaches the door, he turns and gestures from his chest to her, saying; “I love you – with all my heart”

He turns, opens the door, and leaves as she cries and whimpers “no!, no”

Then she rushes to the door crying, “No! Ian! Ian!” She flings herself against the door with her hands on it, fingers splayed against the panel. Slowly, she relaxes., but does not turn or speak, crying softly.

We cut to the other side of the room and see that Kevin has come in. Turning, she sees him.

K: I’m sorry.

[She steps down from the door, wiping tears from her face]

L: so am I. [she leans on to the table for support and continues to wipe the tears that are still falling]

[Kevin comes close, but not too close]

K; well, this has been a hell of a day. Lucy, is there anything I can do? [this is very good stuff.] I could call Mario’s – have them send some food [he is trying desperately to think of a way to help/distract her I think] Spaghetti for the kids -0 it might make you feel better …

L: [shouts] That’s not going to make me feel better! [quiet, now] I am going to go to Mario’s and that will make me feel better! [she goes over and gets her purse]

K: are you sure? [hey - I wouldn’t want her driving my kids around in the state she’s in]

L: I’m sure – I’m going to take Christina and Danny and me – and we’re going to Mario’s! [she is determinedly bright – but still wiping tears away]

K; [quiet] OK. [she is standing, holding her hand over her mouth]

L: you know - - this is NOT OK. It’s NOT ok because I’m fine with you being Christina’s father, and I’m fine with you being in her life – and my life – but you NOT my family anymore – that’s not what you can call this! [crying, sobbing words out] Ian is my family and I don’t know if I’m ever going to see him again! [she leaves, not stomping off, but somewhere between a walk and a stomp]

[Back to rIcky (who is now inside the Elixir) - he walks across the scene [and seems to have recovered from his ‘farewell’ pretty much as he is eyeing the waitress as she walks by him) and as we reach Livvie and Bull, the cameraman stays with them and rIcky moves out of our vision]

L: Whoa! Whoa! I say ‘yes’ and you are just going to run off?
B: I have a few errands I need to run. I’ll be back in an hour.

L: I’m just making sure that you’re going to guarantee me a good time. [hey! Not even Disneyworld guarantees that!]

B: hey – I’m your company – there’s your guarantee! [smile]

L: [laughs] oh – yes – big guarantee –

B: one hour

L: don’t be late - - Ramsey!

B: don’t worry. [smiles and leaves]

[Livvie sighs and tells herself that with that time she can go home and get changed – she turns and [surprise!] Caleb is there!

L; Caleb!

C: Olivia – just the girl I was looking for…. And we fade into a woman dreaming of Crest teeth whitening strips and River dancing with an endless line of William Shatners [which, Trekkie that I am] works for me, but it also means that the show is over………………..]

[back to daily updates]
