[Open at GH, the 6th floor, Chris is in front of the Nurse’s’ Desk, going over charts, a nurse [not Colleen] behind it, Elizabeth enters]

E: Hi Ramsey.
C: Hi.
E: Just passing through – wanted to thank you for dinner the other night – that was fun.

C: Yeah – yeah – you’re right – it was.

E: I thought maybe we could do something like that again sometime.

C: Maybe – we should pencil it in [regretfully] I’m really kind of busy [points to charts] should get back to work

E: no – I know – I know – just – um – save some lives [they both laugh, smile at each other]

E: well – I’ll see you

C: OK [looks after thoughtfully after she leaves] [Nurse behind the desk leaves, Ian enters, goes behind the desk]

[Page: Dr Smith to OR, Dr Jo Ann Smith]

Chris [turns to desk, Ian] Hey – can I get a quick advice from you?

I: [LOL at the look on his face at Chris asking his advice] from me? Yeah.

C: You start – or you think you start having feelings for someone who’s completely wrong for you …

I: You or me?

C: It’s hypothetical

I: [looks to where Elizabeth just left] well, I might not be the right person to ask about that…

C: [soul of tact, he is NOT] I heard about you moving out of Lucy’s.

I: [darkly] I don’t want to talk about that.

C: I understand.

I: But, I do want to thank you for all the research you did - - thanks for throwing out that drug. [At Last someone, is thanking Chris for something good he did]

C: well, you know - - got to look out for myself, right? [Even he wasn’t completely altruistic, he’d never admit that he was even a little bit] I mean, you know, something happens to you …

I: You saved me from making a very big mistake.

C: yeah, well. Do you think this thing with Lucy is it temporary or is it permanent? [Uh oh – back into deep waters.]

I: I really don’t know [short]

[Over at Rali’s Gym, Rafe is attempting to murder a punching bag][Lucy enters]

L: Yoohoo! Hey! Cousin, I got here as soon as I got your message!

R: That was quick.

L: It was, wasn’t it? I guess I surprised myself. I guess I just need to – [looking at him, observing sort of] I needed to get out of the house – it’s really empty. I didn’t get a chance to tell you – but Ian and I are living apart now.

R: Kevin? What about him?

L: he’s gone – well, I told him to get - - Well, I asked him – it just seemed like with everything going on it seemed so ….

R: awkward?

L: yeah, that [smile] I like seeing you. [He gives her a big grin] I’m glad you called. Also, I’m hoping that that this is a good thing, like good news, ‘cause I could really use it right now [so could we all]

R: well, I hope this classifies as good news; I was wondering if you’d like to come to a wedding.

L: yay! You and Alison! [She hugs his neck] Oh! I’m so happy for you! I want to do something for you! Can I like hire some cannons to go off or do the music or the decorating or maybe - -

R: Actually, I need something a little more important from you - -

L: Anything! You name it, and I’ll do it.

R: Well, since you’re my only family and everything [Where is AUNT CHARLENE?] What I’d really like is your blessing.

L: Are you serious?

R: Dead serious.

L: What are you talking about?

R: It’s just that – I’m done with it, Lucy. I can’t fight this war with Caleb and still have a life with Alison. I just can’t do it – so my vampire-slaying days are over. [Big deal – they both seem to not mind that there are lots of vampires running about freely anymore]

L: no – no – no – we talked about this – you can not just quit being a slayer cold turkey! Caleb is on the loose and you –

R: I have to! I have to do it for Alison, for us and our future. I have to do it for me, for us, all right. I can do it, all right, and I will – I will do it.

L: Cousin. Who are you trying to convince here – me – or yourself?

[And because we can’t seem to have even one day without them: Caleb and Alison now meet by a Big Rock – Alison is carrying her magazines with a multitude of posty notes as she walks around looking down [so she won’t notice Caleb there, waiting to pounce]]

He greets her, and she acts [appropriately] surprised to see him. [Why, I couldn’t say, she sees more of him than her fiancé lately [pun intended]] He asks her [I am not making this up] if she needs a hand carrying her many magazines through the woods [and I think Caleb and Ali are getting their story mixed up with Jamal and Imani’s – that is where the Big Bad Wolf is supposed to be]

Caleb says that Alison doesn’t look thrilled to see him again, but she says she has come to peace with what happened and she has decided to take his advice [WHY? He’s the Vampire bad guy for pity’s sake] and she is just going to move on like that night [of unprotected sex?] never happened.

She asks if he and Livvie are back together – he says that there must be something in the air, but he and Livvie are ALSO getting married – not that they want to steal her thunder -- she interrupts and tells him that she thinks that is just great.

[But since we mention Livvie, we also get to go see how she is doing [At the Elixir, with Jack [a/k/a Bull]], explaining why she stood Bull up on the riverbank the other night.]

She tells him she is sorry that she blew off their date, but something cam up [no pun intended, I’m sure] and he guesses it was Caleb [so maybe there was a pun intended, after all]

Bull tells her it didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out where she was [and that’s good, because, Chris seems to be the closest thing to it on the East side of town and he’s busy.]

She’s all happy, happy, joy, joy, she’s getting married and they are going to have a ‘real’ wedding this time. Bull explains to her that there is only one problem – Caleb doesn’t want to marryLivvie, he only wants to punish her. [I’ve seen some marriages where BOTH are achieved, but I digress… and we are now seeing the

Credits … [and [think I my ONLY view of Kevvy today. WAH!]]

[Still at the Elixir, Bull is quoting lyrics]

So, with the promise of my kiss, you’ll never know a pain like this [no, it’s not the theme from the NeverEndingWedding, it’s the draft lyrics for Caleb’s new song]

Livvie holds from the uncrumpled sheet while Bull explains that the song is pretty romantic for a future bride [sarcastically] Livvie holds up the sheet: “What am I supposed to do with this?” She asks [before I can even suggest anything - - and no, not THAT, I mean, like make a party hat or something, Bull tells her:] “Run, Run away.” [DO NOT PASS “GO” DO NOT RECEIVE $200]

B: Those words imply that his future bride is going to have an eternity of pain [It IS the NeverEndingWedding!]

L: [who was there, the night Caleb sang his ditty to make the ring come back and the light fell on her Dad, says:] Bull, it is just a song! [La-di-da] Caleb writes lots of dark songs and we were probably not even together when he wrote this, [and gee, I wonder if this has anything to do with that awful rash….]

Bull again insists that Caleb is trying to send her a message, she counters that Caleb is, like all great artists, expressing his feelings in song. [Yep – we have “Caleb” and “Great Artist” in the same sentence.]

Bull comments that she is as blind about Caleb as he used to be about Livvie, and Livvie wonders [aloud] if Bull is jealous.

And just because we may have missed the last 5 minutes of dialog, they repeat it. [More or less] Bull says it a warning, Livvie acts brain-dead and says it’s not. OK? It’s a Plot, OK? Caleb is Plotting Against Livvie. Livvie burns the sheet of music to prove it.

[Back at the Big Rock, Caleb and Alison continue to NOT talk about the Night That Never Happened]

Alison is explaining that she is happy for Caleb and Livvie as it means everything is back to the way it Should Be. Caleb says that it’s her and Rafe and he and Olivia – just the way that God intended it to be [or, at least TIIC]

She says he ‘knows’ what she is talking about. She continues that he obviously has forgiven Livvie for stealing the ring and making the wish that made them [do the thing on the Night that Never Happened]. She says she is surprised. He says he is too. But he has convinced Livvie that it was All Part of The Past – and besides [leer] it wasn’t that unpleasant. In fact, parts of it were quite memorable.

A; right. [Right?!?! She is agreeing that it was quite memorable?] Now we can get on with our lives.

C: And forgive me when I said that our coming together wasn’t exactly all due to Olivia’s wish.

A: No, that’s not what you suggested. You suggested that somewhere deep inside I actually wanted to sleep with you.

C: yes, I did – and you slapped me [somewhere, deep inside, she wanted to do that, too.]

A: Why do you tell me to get on with my life and just forget about it – but at the same time you try and make me feel guilty [why do you stand around talking to the guy?]

C: I didn’t know I was doing that [bwa-ha-ha]

A: Look, I refuse to feel guilty about something that I have absolutely no control over. I’m not going to let Livvie or her wish ruin my future or Rafe’s. I’m going to be going – Rafe’s probably waiting for me [she drops a mess of those magazines and trips on them – her name is Alison, not Grace] [he catches her] Ow!

C: And you said you weren’t falling for me… [She gives that joke the look it deserves]

[Commercials]

[Meanwhile, back at the Nurses’ Desk [finally!] Ian and Chris are still talking]

I: I don’t know – I thought I’d go up to the cabin and do some work and then come back here

[Page: Dr Adra Perry]

[We note that in the background – waaaaaay over by the post, Elizabeth stops and looks at the two men from behind Chris]

C: You’re not going to do a disappearing act on us, are you [The Amazing Thornhart! ]

I: No. Just got some thinking to do, that’s all. [And the train that drives this chain of thought is: Plot] Think about my life, which at the moment is still eternal*.

[*Question: If you were a dedicated doctor, given eternal life, would your only thought be what about my love life? Would you have any thought to what good you could accomplish with that kind of lifespan – or what good that your blood might do in research. Only asking. ]

C: Maybe accepting that would be a good start…

I: I’ll never accept it, Chris.

C: Never is a long time – [wince] poor choice of words, sorry.

I: You’ve been a good friend, Chris.

C: Well, I’d give you a hug, but I bet it would lead to dancing [ROTFLMA – I love Chris & NN!]

I: I bet it would.

[Chris laughs]

I: You’re a wiseass [LOL, he is, too. But I like that in a person] But about that girl, if you think she’s the right one – go for it.

C: you know who I’m talking about, don’t you?

I: You have nothing to lose.

C: huh – nothing but my sanity.

I: I’ll call you tomorrow.

C: All right [Ian leaves]
[In the second fumble of the day, Elizabeth fat-fingers her purse, and it hits the ground, she goes down for it.]

[Chris, at the desk, muses aloud] I did have a good time last night with Elizabeth, but she’s certifiable. The last thing I need in my life is another crazy woman [see: Julie] [shrugs] what I need in my life is … [turns, sees Nurse Attractive come up behind the Nurses’ Desk]

C; [smile] Hi!

Nurse: Oh, Hi, Dr Ramsey.

C: I’m sorry – you are…?

N: Katrina, but my friends call me Trina [Trina Attractive, nice name]

C: [nice smile, leans forward on desk] good – then that’s what I’ll call you.

T: Um.. [Smile] it’s only my second day and I’m still not sure where to sign these forms…

C; initials right there [he manages to make signing forms look sexy. Sigh.] And sign right there. You know, if you have any other questions feel free to just knock on my day, day or night. [Ooooooooh!]

T; [smiles like I would]

C: In fact, if you’re not busy, want to get dinner with me later? [Cut to Elizabeth, who is NOT smiling, but IS listening] We can talk about how things work around here….?

T: I’d love to, Dr Ramsey.

C: Please, call me Chris. Eight o’clock?

T: It’s a date!

C: Great [she takes some folders/forms and leaves – without dropping anything, including the smile]

C; yeah! [Gives this nice little head wiggle]

[Elizabeth approaches him now]

E; So! You have a date.

C: It seems so.

E: She’s pretty – if you like that sort of thing. [Careful, you’re claws are showing]

C: what is ‘that sort of thing” mean?

E: Young, naive, uncomplicated, unchallenging…. [Check out the look she gives]

C: [Grin] Oh. Yes. What was I thinking?! [LMAO]

E; don’t go out with her.

C: what? [gack]

E: You don’t have time to ..Date. I mean, [scrambling] we still have a lot of important work to do. I still have some sketches that I wanted you to look at …

C [interrupts] you know something? I think it’s time for George to - - to just stop, OK?

E: George still has some responsibilities.

C: Let me tell you something; between all my work here [and he’s the only doctor left in the East Wing, except for Ian “part time” Thornhart, remember] and then going home to the whirring and the buzzing of sewing machines and the constant bickering of Marty and Iris, I think I deserve a little R& R, OK?

[He leaves]

Elizabeth looks like her last designer shoes just got muddied, until she suddenly brightens: “Yeah, that’s what I’ll do. I’ll leave you a message and funny, it’s going to involve your brand-new best friend, Ian.” [Funny, that doesn’t sound funny at all.]

[And that reference to something that sounds terribly “old”-Lucy-Coe-ish behavior takes us to the “new”-Lucy-Coe – and her cousin, Rafe]

R: Everybody has a purpose, Lucy, and I used to think that I could fight this war with Caleb, love Alison, protect her and the town. And I can’t. I finally realized that my purpose for being here – my real purpose for being here - was just for Alison - to love [and worship and drool at the altar of] Alison and protect her and our family. [And letting the town and community go to ‘heck’ somehow does not involve protecting Alison?] Does that sound like a cop-out? [Bad boy, bad boy, what you gonna do when they come for you?]

L: No, it sounds like you made a very important choice [well, nobody ever said she was a rocket scientist, either] I think you’re convincing me it’s the right choice. [Setting aside that it hasn’t dawned on her that SHE will have to fight Caleb if he cops-outs, I think] I think maybe you should stop fighting Caleb and fight for your future with Alison. Leave that slaying of dragons and slaying of tigers and any other spooky thing that comes to town to … [light dawns] … me. We-ll. Maybe somebody else [and that would be ….? Sorry, but the ‘good gangster [sonny Corinthos] already has his hands full, I believe.]

R: You can do it.

L: Hold on to Alison, because you just never know – because you just never know how long you’re going to have that happiness with someone else [on this show: about 5 minutes, if you’re lucky] – it’s so fragile; you can lose it in an instant.

R: You’re thinking about Ian, aren’t you? [No, that lasted years]

L: Yeah, because we love each other to distraction [Muskrat Love Distraction] and it’s just killing me that we can’t be together. You and Alison can be. You can be part of each others lives, forgetting all those ancient obligations [and responsibilities and the public Good] and silly spats and fights you have [he and Caleb have spats?] and ancient junk and put it all behind you – put it behind you now!

R: I just want you to understand, why I’m doing this. I don’t ever want to let you down.

L: Listen to me; you can never let me down. You never have and you never will. In fact, I am so proud of you, you just fought the biggest battle you could fight – you just learned to choose the person you love above anything else [like duty or honor, yes.]

R: I guess I can say from that that I have your blessing?

L: Oh. Yeah, cousin, you have my blessing. But I don’t think you need it; you and Alison are already so blessed.

[And if you watched the preceding scene, skip [lunch, you’ve already had a ton of bologna]

[Back to the Elixir and Bull and Livvie]

Bull wonders if she thinks by burning the sheet of music she can make everything disappear. Livvie blathers on about how Caleb and she have each made mistakes but have forgiven each other.

[Note: Your recapper is stunned to discover that she is, so to speak, on the same sheet of music with Jack “Bull” Ramsey Now if he would just comb his hair.]

B: Right, right. And you can trust vampires!

Livvie blathers how she loves Caleb [and that makes him trustworthy, how?] and they will get married and live happily ever after [she agrees when Bull asks] She does thank him for still caring; he points out that since she wished that he can’t hate her, he is kind of stuck. He tells her that he hopes he is wrong, but she should look out and remember those words – when Caleb writes a song – it’s a signal of what’s to come.

[Back at the Big Rock, Caleb is helping Alison limp over to a park bench]

Alison is ‘ouching’ and moaning, so Caleb kneels to check out her ankle – he notes that they can’t have her ankle hurt when she has that long walk down the aisle to make. She notes that sometimes he can be a very sweet person, and other times he can be as cold as ice – she doesn’t ‘get’ him at all. [HINT, Alison: He’s an Evil Vampire]

He [apparently] fixes her ankle with his magic touch, as Caleb then sits down next to her [she says ‘thanks’] and tells her that is why their relationship is so confusing to - - Rafe and Olivia. He says that they don’t understand it anymore than they [Alison and Caleb] do.

Well, turns out that all Alison knows is that she is looking forward to a normal life without vampires, slayers and so forth, no surprises for her, no sireebob. Caleb comments that that sounds pretty dull to him.

She answers THAT by saying that maybe their marriages are a chance to ride off into the sunset [?! And that would have to do with dullness, how?]

C: so eternal life for us, and a white picket fence for you? [She wants a place that’s green, Seymour]

A: Yep. That’s what I want

C: then that’s what you shall have.

Alison then tells him she’s leaving – and her ankles ok to walk on without his help – so ‘this is sort of the end for us, so” she’s off to meet her fiancé, who is probably waiting for her.

Caleb says be sure and give his best to Rafe. She agrees and hobbles away.

Of course, as soon as she leaves, Caleb gets the last words:

C: That was a cute speech, Alison. The destiny we share is just beginning.

[Commercials]

[GH, 6th Floor Nurses’ Desk, Trina behind it; Ian in front of it]

I: If anyone needs me, I’ll be at the cabin – my pagers on.

T: I’ll get right on these charts, Dr. Thornhart.

I: thank you

T: You’re welcome

[Ian leaves] [Cut to Elizabeth, who we now see, has been standing in the ‘couch’ area and observing this][She waits until Chris is approaching – he goes to the Nurses’ Desk] and then puts her cell phone to her ear, faking a call for him to overhear]

E: you want me to come up to the cabin, do you? Don’t use that kind of language, you’re making me blush! .. Do you really think it’s such a good idea, so soon after Lucy? …. [We see Chris reacting] yeah, I know – you’re right … true .. We are both free. Yeah… you’re right – it will be nice to snuggle up in a nice cozy cabin. All right – I’ll get up there as soon as I can.

[She leaves]

[Chris looks off in the direction she goes]

[We go off to the Gym] [Alison enters, no trace of limp, in fact, kind of be-bopping - BTW]

L: There she is the bride-to-be! [They hug] Oh! The happy news – I’m thrilled – so thrilled for you two!

A: Thank you – I guess Rafe told you – I finally am getting him to the altar. [She goes to Rafe, they hug, kiss]

R: I’d marry her right now if I could.

L: you know – you really are – positively glowing [is this a Hint?]

A: [to Rafe] I wanted to ask you something- I found a Dress that I like and I wanted to see if you thought that was too much?

R: [talks to Alison]

[Lucy leaves, with a sad look on her face]

[Back at the Elixir, my new buddy, Bull is pouring a shot of something brown – he says [to no one in particular – Livvie is gone] you finally bagged your vampire Livvie – well, here’s a toast to you: your gonna need it [drinks]]

[Over at Caleb and Livvie’s apartment, Livvie is sitting on the floor, back to the wall, drinking wine][A ‘Stephen Clay” song is playing] [The door opens, Caleb enters, Livvie gets up]

She greets him, tells him she wasn’t expecting him home that early. He asks if she missed him [she didn’t even aim at him ] then she asks him if he has any ancient vampire books on weddings – she needs it to start planning.

Caleb goes to the stereo and turns it off – says the singer may have a future, but not for a wedding. Livvie says she really likes the record and has been listening to it all day – and oh! BTW, that song was the one about getting the ring, back, right? And punishing the people who took it. [Subtle as a sledge hammer, Livvie is]

C: why do you ask?

L: I took your ring.

C: the song was on the chart before I found out about that – so what?

L: SO, since your songs are like sneak previews [like the ones we DON’T get anymore] of what you’re going to do – I’m just really glad you didn’t write about me.

C: you should be very glad

the promise of my kiss: You’ll never know a pain like this [in case we missed it earlier in the show]

[Commercials –and the show is Over]
