It's not 100% official yet; I gave the store manager some basic info that she needs to run through a system to "make sure I'm who I say I am", and if all goes well, she won't be able to begin my onboarding* until Monday the 29th. Which is fine by me because I'm not exactly excited about the job. Or at least not nearly as excited as SM wants me to be ("we work hard but it's FUN!" "We're like a family!"). But it will be income and I will have time to continue my job search. One major deciding factor: here in OH (and possibly around the country), I can make a surprising amount of money before I would no longer qualify for Medicaid. That was a relief. I'm not anticipating needing health care any time soon (though I think I'm developing tinnitus in my right ear) but health insurance is not about wanting to see a doctor, it's about NEEDING to see a doctor.

* I kind of hate the term "onboarding". I don't even know why...it just sounds stupid to my ear. I guess businesses needed something short and punchy to say instead of "the process you'll go through when you first join the company". I'm also not a fan of "key holder" as it's one of the job responsibilities, not the job itself. But at least my dislike of both words hasn't yet reached the level of vitriol I had for everything "squad" and "#goals"...or worse, "#squadgoals" <g>.

Thank you everyone for your input--I appreciated it!
