I hate when I reach the "falling out of love" stage of any obsession...

I mean "interest".

I found the band Home Free in the late fall/early winter of 2018. Shortly after, Dad was diagnosed with CHF and I dove into the treasure trove of HF videos on YouTube to keep myself distracted. The love burned bright for years...and now my love is dimming. HF had a concert last night in Warren, OH, which would've been only a 90 minute drive from here. Yesterday I worked the morning shift, so I would've had plenty of time to go to the concert (and I was supposed to work the afternoon shift today but instead wound up working both shifts due to the morning shift co-worker feeling ill and needing to leave).

But...I didn't.

I tried to rationalize missing the concert by saying I don't have the funds but honestly, HF concerts aren't that expensive. We're not talking Taylor Swift shows here. But really, HF hasn't done anything lately that I've been all that amazed by. The current tour is mostly songs I've either seen them perform live multiple times or aren't really interested in. Also, the band's "sky high" tenor--Austin Brown--left the group earlier this year to focus on his solo career (and spend more time with his new wife), and while I have no issue with his replacement, the guy ain't Austin, and it's going to take me a little time to adjust to that. Frankly, I think Austin's a better singer AND a better performer (based on some clips I've seen online of the new guy), and it rankles a bit that the first two songs HF has put out since Austin left have featured New Guy on lead. I think it would've been a bit better if they eased him into the group and had him do backing vocals for a few months before taking lead but eh, that's just my opinion.

HF is doing a Christmas tour later this year (they almost always do a Christmas tour) and one of the stops is in a town about 3 hours away. It's a Friday night; I'm considering perhaps going to that show (it's in a town I've never been to), and maybe staying the night down there...but maybe I won't.
