Prior to this, Sasha has had secondary storylines with secondary characters. Having a character in a romantic relationship is not enough to flesh out a character. Sasha had her drug problem, her marriage and miscarriage and other strong soap storylines, but they were with secondary characters.
Making her a Scorpio anchors her on the show more and having Michael's baby connects gives her primary connection to the Quartermaines, Sonny and Carly families. I see a great future for her character.
