Daytime Emmy Change: TV Insider reports that the Daytime Emmy Awards will be introducing a new category called Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series. In 2023, the category honoring younger actors, Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series, was retired. Rachel Schwartz, Head of Daytime and Children & Family Emmy Awards, told the site that the new category is “specifically for people who are on their first daytime contract, so there is not necessarily an age parameter with it. Although, I do imagine that some of the people that enter into the category will be on the younger end of the spectrum.” The next awards ceremony will be in October.
The Write Stuff: The 2025 Writers Guild Awards bestowed Best Daytime Drama honors on Young and Restless, beating out the writing teams of DAYS and GH. (B&B did not submit itself for consideration.)
