General Hospital Update for Friday, 2-Feb-2007

It's a crisis at the Metrocourt, as Mr. Craig and his henchmen are holding half of Port Charles hostage in the lobby.
Having originally stormed the hotel in search of Alcazar's mysterious briefcase, Craig's plan backfired when the vault shut down unexpectedly, leaving Maxie and one of the hitmen in the vault for 12 hours.
Chaos is breaking out in the lobby. Craig proved that he meant business when he shot Robin, leaving her bleeding out and in shock. On one hand, she's in luck, as she was shot in front of Alan, Emily and Liz, a complete medical staff. The problem is that there's no equipment to treat her with, and Craig only agreed at the last minute for anyone to help her. It gets worse when Alan is hit over the head, knocking him senseless, and is tossed into an empty office.
And the biggest problem is the mysterious briefcase. As we know, if the codes are not reset soon, it's set to selfdestruct, and could take the hotel and everyone in it, down too.
There is only one person who knows the code, and that's Alcazar--who is currently in emergency brain surgery at GH! He was only able to tell Skye half the code before he lost consciousness and she's racking her brains trying to figure out the last part.
Everyone had originally gone to the Metrocourt for a big charity bash. Most people are in the restaurant on the top floor when the crisis begins and have no idea what's going on. When they finally figure out there's a problem, because the elevators have stopped running, comparisons to the Port Charles Hotel fire are made by the crowd.
Lucky and Rodriguez arrive to evacuate everyone via the stairs. After the crowd is accounted for outside, Mac and the rest of the PCPD figure out who's on the hostage list.
Most of the key players in PC are on it: Sonny, Nick, Carly, Sam and that's only a start.
Sonny and Nick are trying to make deals with Craig; Nick by offering everyone in Craig's group a million dollars and Sonny by giving them a chance to escape--with the only condition in both instances being to have Robin evacuated. Craig's not having it.
And finally, as soon as Jason told Patrick about Robin's condition, Patrick high-tailed it to the Metrocourt to be with her, leaving Noah to finish Alcazar's surgery--even though he's never done this kind of procedure! And with that, we'll have to wait till Monday!
