Not surprisingly, Jessica Collins (ex-Avery) was dissatisfied with the direction of her character and her story for the longest time, and even more dissatisfied with the new, take-it-or-leave-it contract negotiations. In a July 17th, online SOD report, Collins said, “I was told there was no room for discussion, which made me realize there wouldn’t be much discussion for the character, either.” Pick up the latest issue in newsstands for her thoughts on the controversial exit story, and lots more.
TV Source Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Omar White-Nobles continued the Jessica Collins/Avery SOD train of thought in a July 17th update by adding her view on the initial Charles Pratt Jr. story idea of having her character cry rape against Joe. No way in hell would Collins play such a travesty of a story and such a character assassination. “Even though I was leaving the show, I felt very strongly that this really sold out Avery and everything she stood for.” She asked TPTB to write another exit story, and this rape was what she got.
Essence Magazine June 24th features Mishael Morgan (Hilary), 29, and her baby bump in a nice photo vignette with a few glimpses into her first pregnancy, baby shower — where she learned she would have a boy, and hiding that baby bump behind furniture and big purses on Y&R. “All of my shots on camera are in front of the bar and from my waist up. That's the great thing about soaps: They work around it so easily. They're so used to it.” Morgan chose not to know the gender of her firstborn right away until after seven safe months at a baby shower. Her friend and her doctor knew. Her friend Melly of Mellycakes baked a baby reveal cake, and that’s when she cut into it and saw she would have a boy. The baby boy arrives next month. “I feel more fabulous than ever. I feel like a woman,” Morgan said. “I don’t know how to explain it better than that. It’s just the height of being a woman. When I got my baby bump, I was actually really excited about it and happy about it and proud about it.” Essence text by Yolanda Sangweni.

Is Mishael Morgan (Hilary) leaving the show? She’s going away on maternity leave for sure, soon.
Y&R’s Adam reveal seemed to go over better than GH’s reveal of little Jake back from the dead, which doesn’t really help viewers who are hating the misogynistic regime of JFP/Pratt. In total viewers, Y&R remains at the top of the heap with B&B, GH, and DOOL following suit. All the soaps, however, dropped in viewers from the female 18-49 demo. –Zap2it, Sara Bibel, July 14, 2015
