He felt it in his gut and he put it out there in part as a bluff but in part because he knew it was true. Her behavior confirmed it for him. Doesn't matter if the cops would laugh. The threat was enough. It served its purpose, which is why she left. Did she call the cops? Nope.
I liked how he handled her today. She deserves that and so much more for the sheer havoc that she gleefully caused. Suck it Esme!
