When Cyrus is alone after a scene with Laura or law enforcement or other good guy, we don’t see any smirking or sneering or other indication that he isn’t being sincere. Maybe that’s just to lull the audience into believing he is sincere when he isn’t. Or maybe he is sincere in the moment but something will happen that sends him back to being a criminal. Whichever it is, he’s one of the most interesting characters on the show right now.
