Ava falsely accused would have been a better story. Or EVERYONE believes it and Ava decides to clear her name or maybe Trina enlists Joss (both need a story away from guys) and they investigate and someone get clues that lead to Valentin and he has no choice but to put a hit on Trina and Joss.
At this point, I wish she had been in on it with Valentin because this is beneath her.
