Well, he did say "no plans for recast at this time." I don't buy it at all. As much as I dislike Michael and not really a fan of Chad's acting--Michael is connected to three core families of PC: Quartermaines, Spencers, and Corinthos. He is also in the middle of a major story and with one upcoming (Sasha's pregnancy). Michael is not going to abandon his family. Lulu just came out of a coma, I doubt they put Michael into a coma. Korte is all about Carly so she won't agree with killing off another one of Carly's sons.
I could see it playing out as:
Michael is kidnapped/missing.
Michael takes a business trip out of the country to land some huge deal for Aurora. He's gone like 2-3 weeks and comes back as Robert Adamson.
