I agree with Brooke, she chose to give the baby up for adoption, and is leaving it to the child to decide if he wants to contact her. This means that she has given permission for the child to have her information if he chooses to seek her out.
After all, he may not know he was adopted, and it isn't her job to tell him. And if he does know he's adopted but doesn't want to look her up, that is his choice.
Whether to adopt or not is a very personal decision, and there is more to it than if the family has money. Brooke made the best decision she could for herself and her child at the time.
