Recovering in a burn unit and whatever is necessary to make him physically presentable is incredibly painful. She could visit Michael to LET HIM KNOW she still cares about how he's doing and let him know how his kids are doing, including hand made cards.
It is the wrong time to talk about their relationship or what is happening with Drew -- but to say sorry about how things came out and a sincere desire to let him know she cares about how he's doing is not a bad thing.
And yes, there is a risk that Michael will choose not to see her -- but making the gesture would be a good thing.
