General Hospital Update for Friday, 8-Jul-2005

Lorenzo and Carly host a party in their home for all of the stockholders for the hospital charities, and to announce Carly as the new director. They know that people are not going to be friendly. Sonny takes Reese. And coincidentally, he's bought her the same dress that Lorenzo has bought Carly. Jax invites Lucky and Elizabeth as his guests. Courtney is not able to join them. Noticing all these people she dislikes without anybody she can be civil to, Carly has difficulty with the guests. Tracy is first to speak up about how Carly has no business taking her position from her. Lorenzo tells Tracy she must apologize to his wife. But she refuses and leaves. Alan, Monica and Skye follow her out the door. Jax donates $500,000. Lorenzo and Carly do not argue with him. Sonny donates $1 million. But Carly antagonizes Reese and Reese spills a drink on her. Lorenzo asks them both to leave. Sonny asks Lorenzo if he still wants his million dollars. Lorenzo says he will cover it himself.

Maxie and Jessie are hiding out, dependent on this hostile woman who believes they are married, expects them to be her servants and seems to have the hots for Jessie.

WHile taking Michael to his therapy with Dr. Thomas, Sam is able to conclude that there is something not right about how Dr. Thomas is nicer to her than to anybody else. Simultaneously, Justis informs Jason that he's found out, through Dr. WInters, that Dr. Thomas seems to have real interest in Sam. Michael forgets his backpack on the way home. Dr. Thomas takes it back and discovers a letter that Michael wrote to Jodie. Jason and Sam believe she's gone. But she's found a way to fool her family into sneaking by to see Michael. Michael overhears Dr. Thomas telling Jason and Sam that he's never met Jodie. ANd Michael asks her why she lied to him that she knew Dr. Thomas.

There's a big thunderstorm in Port Charles. The roads and bridges are closed down right when everybody is at Lorenzo and Carly's and it looks like they will have to stay there overnight. Lucky makes it clear that he is very uncomfortable at the party with all the rich people and especially with the attention that Jax is giving to Elizabeth.

Right when Dr. Thomas is returning Michael's backpack to Jason and Sam, Max comes in and announces that he's heard that there a big thunderstorm which will not let him get out of their home.
