General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 23-Aug-2005

Courtney goes to Sonny’s. Of course, there are gates to prevent her from entering and Max is playing watchdog. She tells him she is not there to see Sonny. She is there to see Emily since she knows she’s staying at Sonny’s. He tells her that “the boss” gave him instructions not to let either her or Nikolas near Emily. But right then Emily comes out and tells him she would like to hear what Courtney has to say for herself.

Nikolas runs into Jax at Kelly’s. Jax, again, has to play “macho jerk”, punches him and he falls over. Nikolas tells Jax he needs to forgive Courtney, realize she loves him and that they are having a baby together. But Jax does not buy that Nikolas wants to work on his own marriage and stop messing around with Courtney.

Courtney asks Emily why she is staying with Sonny. Emily tells her that Sonny has been very kind to her and staying at Sonny’s at least prevents Nikolas from harassing her. Courtney tells Emily that she must realize that Nikolas loves her. Emily tells Courtney that she can only imagine how much Courtney and Nikolas have discussed her (Emily’s) marriage while they were getting it on. Courtney urges Emily to believe that she and Nikolas did not plan to meet at the Bahamas and never slept together. But Emily does not buy a word of it. She saw them in Courtney's room, together, wearing nothing but robes, laughing and ready to remove the robes. She tells Courtney that that is not “faithful”, neither for Courtney’s marriage to Jax or for Nikolas’ marriage to her. Courtney tells Emily that although she is angry with Nikolas, she blames Courtney more than she blames Nikolas. She had to spit in Jax’s face and then go after her (Emily’s) husband. Courtney protests that she did not mean for any of this to happen. Emily tells Courtney that she made a choice to seduce a married man and be a home wrecker.

Nikolas tells Jax that Courtney has taken all of his crap and tolerated him because she wants to save their marriage. Jax tells Nikolas that he has not proven his case for not sleeping with Courtney, when he justifies everything he did with her. Nikolas tells Jax that Courtney told him when she first met him, she thought he was a shallow, arrogant jerk. But he grew on her. And he can see that she had Jax pegged from the moment she met him. Jax tells Nikolas he does not care what he thinks of him and walks away.

Reese tells Sonny that he is not going to prevent her from working with Rick. It’s none of his business if she wants to have a law partnership with his brother. He tells her he cannot trust her. She reminds him that Carly betrayed her, slept with her father, ruined her family and her life. And she almost died in a car crash. She tells him that she does have some issues about that. She also reminds him that she was honest with him. SO now it’s his turn. She admits to him that 15 years ago she was Charlotte Roberts. What was he like 15 years ago? He tells her that he has never made himself into another person. She had two different identities. She reminds him that she is the woman who saved his children.

Lorenzo meets with Skye and relives Carly going BERZERKO after finding out that he’s not only dumped her and divorced her, but he wants Skye to take her job as head of charitable endowment. Right then, Carly comes and harasses Skye about how she “finagled” her way to get what she wants and implies that Skye wants to get in Lorenzo’s pants. Lorenzo tells Carly that Skye does not have to dignify the trash that comes out of her mouth. The very reason why he chose Skye to head the charitable endowment is because of her character and integrity and her ability to deal with the most impossible people. He sounds outwardly like he could care less about Carly. But Skye tells him she knows his heart is breaking over Carly.

Alexis informs Rick that Jax wants to split from Courtney and asked her to represent him in divorce court. She admits that she told him he should attempt to work on his marriage and not do anything rash. Hearing that, Ric asks her if she really told that to another person. She admits she did. And sometimes she is even able to follow her own advice.

Ric then goes to Sonny’s to interrupt Sonny’s argument with Reese. He urges his brother to treat Reese with some respect. Reese goes out the door and tells Ric that Sonny refuses to listen to a word she says. Sonny tells Ric he cannot get over being betrayed by her. Ric tells Sonny he has some problems when he cannot trust anybody. Right then, Emily comes in and wildly defends Sonny to Rick. She tells him how dare he judges Sonny with all the slimy stunts he’s pulled himself. Ric gtells Emily that even when somebody does not tell another person the entire truth, it is not a total betrayal. He is obviously talking about many issues, including her and Nikolas. She asks him why one should be in a relationship if there are lies. He tells her that he can see that neither she nor Sonny want to forgive people they love. He leaves them. Sonny admits to Emily that Ric might be right about him. But he does not need to be right about her.

Nikolas tells Lucky that he did not sleep with Courtney and they both agreed to work on their marriages. Lucky tells his brother that he believes that but Jax does not. And he informs Nikolas that Jax is ready to divorce Courtney and raise the baby without her. So he and Elizabeth have decided they will fight for this child. Hearing that, Nikolas tells his brother he cannot believe it’s come to this. Lucky tells Nikolas that he thinks it is possible that he and Emily can get past this. But Nikolas is at wit’s end about figuring out what to do with Emily.

Carly goes to the hospital and notices her mother talking real friendly to Alexis about Christina and all. She approaches Alexis with wild accusations. She assumes that Alexis is using Kristina as a “pawn” to get Sonny. Alexis asks her why she’d assume such a thing and asks Carly what is wrong with her. She tells Carly she is obsessing over Sonny. She needs to get a life. Get a job. Take up knitting. Volunteer at a children’s school. Get over this ridiculousness over Sonny. RIGHT ON, Alexis!!

After his talk with Emily where he tells her that he doesn’t want her to turn out to be as distrusting, Sonny decides to take his own advice. He goes and finds Reese and tells her he wants to try to develop trust with her.

Carly again goes and “acts happy” to Michael. But he can see right through her b.s. He tells her that he knows she is very upset about something and is afraid she will scare Morgan. She apologizes and tells her son she loves him. He tells her he loves her too.

And it looks like Courtney and Nikolas CANNOT keep their hands off each other.
