Courtney is out jogging and runs into Elizabeth. They seem friendly assuming that they are all on the same page about the pregnancy and surrogacy and adoption. Elizabeth reveals, however, that Lucky does not trust Jax as far as he can throw him. Lucky KNOWS that Jax wants to divorce Courtney and sue her for full custody of the baby. And that is exactly what Jax is attempting to do on the phone with Justus. And right then, Nikolas catches Justus on the phone in his dirty deal. Justus tells Nikolas that he is having a private conversation with his client. Nikolas tells him if he wants complete privacy, maybe he should reconsider using a cell phone out in public. Justus reveals to Nikolas that he has loyalty to Emily and will not forgive Nikolas for what he did to her. And he may have similar loyalty to Jax who is also a family member. Courtney is still completely in the dark, believing she can trust Jax. Courtney tells Jax that Elizabeth informed her that Lucky had “doubts” about them getting back together. Jax tells Elizabeth that they can promise her that when the baby is born, it will have a “stable home”. Elizabeth leaves and Jax asks Courtney if she has any doubts. She sure doesn’t seem to.
Alan informs to Monica that he’s discovered that their son has lost his memory again. He talks about all the terrible things that happened that were caused by Sonny. Jason says he hopes that Alan is lying. Monica admits that it broke their hearts when he abandoned them and joined forces with Sonny. But it wasn’t Sonny’s fault. It was Jason’s own choice to have nothing more to do with his family. He tells them that he remembers being told by a woman named Sam McCall that she is his girlfriend. They confirm that is true and that Sam can be trusted. He also informs them that Sam informed him that Sonny Corinthos is his best friend. Alan tells Jason that that is not true. Monica tells Jason that Sonny is a criminal and she’s not personally fond of him but he’s been a good friend to Jason and did not make him do anything he did not choose to do. And she tells him that he needs a doctor because he could be in danger. But he leaves. And of course, Alan and Monica have a big argument about what should be done in Jason’s best interest.
Sam finds Emily and informs her that Jason has lost his memory and she’s worried about him going off and possibly being a danger to himself or somebody else. Emily says that she heard about Jason breaking up a fight between Carly and Reese but it also seems to her that Jason does not remember anything. And she informs Sam that Carly just had a nervous breakdown and that is why Sonny is not there. Sam tells Emily that Jason needs medical attention because he has headaches and passes out and has nosebleeds. She’s worried about Jason completely forgetting everybody but having complete ability to know how to do many bad things. Jason then returns to his apartment, notices pictures of him and Sam but remembers nothing. He then picks the lock to the box that has his gun and takes it. Emily goes and tells Alan and Monica that Sam knows of Jason’s head-aches, fainting and nose-bleeds. They conclude that their son needs to be committed or he could wind up dead. Right then, Sam goes back to their old apartment. He covers her mouth and asks her not to scream. She observes that he knew very well how to open the box with the gun. He’s amazed that he has no memory of anything but he knows all too well how to operate dangerous devices and computer chips and all kinds of scary things. He does not like the fact that he must have made his living killing people. He wants to get out of this way of life. She asks if he wants to leave her. He asks her how she could love a man who kills people. She tries to convince him that he is a good man with a gentle soul who is not capable of any kind of hate or destruction. He asks her when all he could remember was the gun, how could that make him good and gentle? She tells him he needs to just stay there with her. He can ask her anything he wants. They can order some food and he can trust her. Emily comes and tells them that she will get some medical help for Jason. He passes out but Sam and Emily are able to catch him.
Reese is able to find Carly at what looks to be their old school. She tells Carly that she wants to take her home as Sonny is very worried about her. Carly tells Reese that she knows that Reese wants to take Sonny from her and of course, Reese is the last person Carly wants to see or trust. Ric goes and finds Reese after Carly has escaped. Carly goes to Reese’s parents’ home and has a flashback of herself as a teenager, in an “interaction” she had with Reese’s father who wanted to replace her own dysfunctional family. But he really wanted to get in her pants. PERV! And right then, Reese walks in on them. In the present tense, Reese finds Carly. She explains, for the first time, that she got in a fight with her mom. She just wanted her best friend. But Reese/Charlotte was not there. Her father was there though. And he told her she was beautiful and she kissed him. But Reese does not believe that any more than she did when they were teenage girls. She tells Carly that her father was an honorable man who’d never do anything like that. She says she knows what happened. Carly seduced her father. Carly is lying. Ric comes and tells Reese she need not get so upset. But Ric tells her she must realize that her father was at fault. He was an adult. And even if Carly threw herself at him, he was a middle-age married man and she was a teenage girl. And no matter how much she loved her father, she cannot blame what happened on Carly.
Jax finds Nikolas and tells him he knows he’s after his wife. Nikolas tells Jax that he actually cares about Courtney, which is more than Jax does. And he knows their “oh-so-convenient” reconciliation. But he knows that Jax plans to divorce Courtney and take the baby. Jax punches Nikolas. Nikolas fights back. And of course, Courtney comes and breaks them up. Nikolas tells her she has no idea what this guy is planning on doing to her. But she demands that Nikolas leaves her alone. When she’s alone with Nikolas, she tells him that with all the lies they have told everybody, they have no room to judge Jax’s credibility. But he tells her that he knows for a fact, as much as he hates to say this, that Jax has no intention to reconcile with her. He wants to divorce her and get full custody of the baby and is only playing her. She asks how he knows. He tells her he overheard Jax on the phone to Justus. She tells him that he is the one she cannot trust.
