General Hospital Update for Friday, 2-Sep-2005

Courtney tells Nikolas that she is in love with Jax and they are going to make their marriage work. But he tells her what he knows about Jax’s “little plan” to make her think he’s going to stay with her while he arranges, behind her back, to divorce her and take full custody of the baby when it’s born. She doesn’t believe him. But he tells her she needs to know what that sleezeball is up to. He’s not making anything up. He tells her that she owes it to herself to find out what is going on. But she tells him she trusts her husband and is not going to spy on him. He tells her that she is refusing to see the reality because she is scared. But she won’t listen to him and tells him to leave her alone.

Jason is in the hospital, unconscious. Alan is afraid that when he wakes up he might be a danger to himself or somebody else, so he’s ready to sedate him and put him in restraints. But Sam comes into Jason’s hospital room with a gun and tells Alan he will not do that to Jason.

Alexis is trying to get a hold of Ric, unaware that he’s been taken to the hospital after the flood. She then runs into Justus and Emily who inform her that he will represent Emily and assume that she will be representing her nephew. Alexis asks Emily if she is really ready to throw her marriage away with Nikolas. Emily tells Alexis that she still loves Nikolas. But they’ve tried and failed too many times and it’s too painful and pointless to prolong the agony trying to make the marriage work when it won’t.

When Ric is in the hospital, the doctor tells him that nobody else could have survived the flood. But it looks like Carly and Reese are alive and at least PHYSICALLY well. Carly is emotionally messed up, huddling in the corner. Reese tells her that maybe the fact that they’ve both survived the flood is some sort of “cosmic message” that they need to call a truce and stop hurting each other. Reese tells her they can spend the night in this shack. But tomorrow they will get some help. But Carly has a fear that either Reese kills her or she kills Reese.

Alan tells Sam that Jason is at risk for a brain aneurysm and all he cares about is saving his son’s life, no matter what it takes. In this time, Jason has escaped and runs into Sonny. Having no clue that Jason has lost his memory, Sonny wants a “run down” on where he took Carly and how to get her back. Not recognizing this “strange guy”, Jason tells Sonny he must take care of his problems himself and Jason does not know him.

Alexis talks privately with Nikolas, knowing he had a bad day, involving a confrontation with Jax. He’s also frustrated by what Jax is going to do to Courtney and how she refuses to see it. He tells Alexis that he’s done “fighting” for his marriage. She may tell Justus that he and Emily can draw up their papers and file for divorce.

Sam finds Sonny in the hospital and informs him that Jason has lost his memory and does not want to “come back” to the life he had before. Sonny then gets a call. Ric calls him from the hospital in Florida. He tells Sonny that he found Carly and Reese but they are stuck in a flood.

Reese admits to Carly that she did have an “agenda” with her when she first came to Port Charles. And she admits that maybe now she understands what happened between her father and Carly was not entirely Carly’s fault. She admits that she always idolized her father. He was her hero. She remembers all the things they did together. And she realizes that she did not want to believe that her father could do something like what he did to Carly. Carly is sitting silently, looking like she’s going to pass out. Reese admits that she blamed Carly for her father’s death. But she now realizes that her father did a bad thing. And she apologizes to Carly.

Sonny goes on his jet to find Carly and calls Emily to let her know. She tells him he may stay as long as he wants. She can stay with the boys and has many plans for things to do with them. And he tells her he wants to know that she is protected.

Jason comes home to Sam and tells her he wants to get away. She tells him she knows that this is not comfortable for him to run into all these people he does not remember and deal with what he is dealing with. But he needs to give this some time.

Carly does not speak when Reese is talking to her. But she’s thinking to herself that Reese just wants to take Sonny from her. She goes to open drawers in the shed and finds a knife.

Justus meets Jax and presents him with “evidence” to prove that Courtney is unfit to raise a baby. But he asks him if he really wants to go through with this. He warns Jax that this could cause years of terrible consequences. But Jax clearly tells Jax that his job is to make sure that his marriage ends and Courtney cannot take any money or claims to “his” child. And RIGHT THEN, Courtney comes to overhear their conversation and SEE FOR HERSELF that NIKOLAS KNEW what he was talking about. Jax is NOT to be trusted. Justus asks Jax how he can be so rash and so cold to the woman he loves. Jax tells Justus that it was all a lie to believe that he and Courtney had a future together. He was only “rebound” for her. She wasn’t over Jason when they got together. And shortly after they got married, she was sneaking around with Nikolas. He asks Justus if he’d want a joke of a marriage like that.

Emily tells Nikolas that she “wants to be honest about their feelings for each other” When she says that, he tells her that he knows she is only rehearsing phony lines. And he asks her to tell him the truth. She then tells him that she doesn’t love him any more. He tells her that was easy. She admits that they’ve loved each other for a long time. But she knows that it won’t work and she no longer trusts him and knows that he has feelings for Courtney. She still cares about him but her love is gone and she knows if he’s honest with himself, he’ll admit that his love for her is also gone. It’s over and they need to let it go and move on.

Sam just about convinces Jason that he can trust her if he gets some help at the hospital. She takes him to the hospital and Monica informs her that Jason may die.

Emily tells Michael that Sonny wants her to let Leticia take him and Morgan to the Metro Court for a while. He is ok with that but notices she is sad about something. She admits that she is ready to divorce Nikolas. She tells him that sometimes when you love somebody, the best thing you can do is let go.

Nikolas is alone very upset. He puts his and Emily’s wedding rings down on the table and cries. Right then, Courtney enters and admits that he was right about Jax. She caught him red-handed, talking to Justus about his dirty deal to divorce her and take the baby from her without her knowing. She tells Nikolas that she owes him an apology and realizes that she’s better off with Jax after what he’s done. She cries and he holds her. And they start kissing again.

Sonny and Ric go to the shed assuming they will find Carly and Reese. But they go to the wrong one.

Reese is talking to Carly with her back turned to her. And Carly comes up behind her ready to stab her with a knife.
