General Hospital Update for Monday, 24-Oct-2005

Lucky and Elizabeth met up at Kelly's, where he provided his wife-to-be with some java. He asked her to call in sick to the hospital, but she replied she was saving her sick days for their honeymoon.

In Paris, Robin was told her funding had been pulled and her research would not continue. Robin was upset, especially when she didn't get a definitive explanation from the hospital administrator. Robin confronted Henri, who was responsible for the sabotage. When he said he'd see what he could do about the funding if she slept with him, Robin shot back, "Not if you were the last man on Earth."

Alan's attempt to get Emily out of Sonny's orbit backfired when she told him to, "Go to hell!" in front on Monica. Em reamed her dad for trying to blackmail her by getting her kicked out of med school unless she left Sonny's house. Emily remained even more determined than ever to look after Sonny's kids. Monica went to Jason for help with Alan. She explained the blackmailing ruse to Jason, and asked him to ask Em to make the decision that's best for her.

Jax went to Sonny's with a bill for the Metro Court shoot-out. Sonny told him to contact his insurance company, as he wasn't paying. Jax accused Sonny of ruining everything he touched — like Carly, Lily, Brenda, etc. Sonny ordered the Aussie out. Jax left, and the phone rang. It was Manny. "Buckle up," Ruiz warned. "We're going to play a little game." Unbeknownst to Sonny, Manny was calling him from Michael's room. Sonny realized this and raced up the stairs. The room was empty when Sonny arrived, but there was a DVD from Manny. Sonny ordered Max to double the protection on the kids, and chewed out Max for allowing Manny to slip into the house.

Courtney told Mike she was ready to take the paternity test. He volunteered to drive her to the hospital, but Nik showed up and said he'd do it. They both said they hoped that the baby is Nik's. They hugged and agreed to share the whole baby experience together. At the hospital, Nik and Court ran into Emily, who wished them well. Dr. Meadows warned Court that in a small number of cases, the test could result in a miscarriage. Court said she needed to go through with it, and asked Nik for a DNA sample. Nik went in with the doc, and Monica arrived. She tried to explain Alan's actions to her daughter. Em was upset that Monica asked her to leave Sonny's house. Monica voiced her concern and her distaste for Sonny and what he has done to their family.

Tony informed Sam about a new line of experimental drugs from France that could help Jason, and that the doctor in charge is — Robin! Jason entered to see the exchange, and Tony was conveniently paged out of the room. Jason refused to take part in any surgery until he stops Manny, and Sam kept mum about you-know-who. Mac sat down with Sam to question her about Manny's attack. Sam turned the tables on him by quizzing him about Robin. Mac explained Robin's betrayal, when she told AJ that he was Michael's father. Sam was about to spill to Jason about Robin when Sonny called and filled him in on Manny's nefarious activities at Casa Corinthos. Meanwhile, Manny showed up in the E.R. with Elizabeth.

In the examining room, Nik comforted a worried Courtney as the test was being performed. Afterward, Court told Nik she was relieved that it was over. She fretted about what Jax will say when he learns she's pregnant. They agreed to put their worries aside and decided to go for ice cream. Jax arrived and asked what they were doing on the pediatric floor. Court covered, of course. At Kelly's, Nik and Court had their ice cream and made a wish on a shooting star. Court then panicked when she felt a cramp.

Lucky arrived at the hospital in search of Liz, and he and Em talked about the wedding plans. He then went to the E.R. room, which he found in disarray, and spotted blood stains. Unbeknownst to Lucky, Manny kidnapped Elizabeth and ordered her to treat his gunshot wound. Liz patched him up and gave him some meds. Liz saw Manny's picture in the newspaper, and he replied that she almost got out of there alive. Liz begged to be let go while Manny made a move on her. He then doubled over in pain.

Jason and Sam showed up at Sonny's, where they watched the DVD of Manny removing his own bullet and threatening the trio. Emily came home and stated she refused to leave Sonny's, either for her own protection or because of Alan's blackmail threat. At the penthouse, Jason suffered another headache, and Sam mentioned the "other" option. Jason said he remembered Robin.
