General Hospital Update for Thursday, 1-Jun-2006

It was a dark day in Port Charles today--and I'm not talking about the weather report. Lucky's life continues to fall apart, while Sonny goes deeper into mental illness. Jacks is considering throwing in the towel and telling Nick the truth about John, while Robert gets an interesting business proposal. On to the show!
Maxie is working a volunteer shift at GH, when she happens to come on the drug cart. Having the hots for Lucky, she helps herself to a bottle of the painkillers that Lucky's on, but Dr. Lee catches her in the act.
After Dr Lee confronts her, Lucky steps off the floor elevator and comes to Maxie's defense. Dr. Lee is on to her game and tells Lucky that Maxie is stealing drugs--but Lucky manages to convince her that she just found the bottle on the floor and is putting it back on the cart. And this shows that Dr. Lee is more gullible than we thought!
Lucky's also playing detective. He uses this opportunity to ask Dr. Lee if she's ever seen Patrick hitting on Liz, and she tells him she has--so he decides that he's going to win Liz back.
Lucky returns to GH with a huge flower bouquet for Liz and runs into Maxie again. This time Maxie slips him the pills. Lucky doesn't want to take them at first, and sputters that he's a cop and Maxie's the commissioner's daughter, yada yada, but addiction wins out, and he sticks them in his pocket.
Meanwhile, on to Sonny and his train wreck of a life! When we first see him, he's going over the blueprints of his planned rennovation to Chez Corinthos with Max. Throwing a fit over the architect's addition of a flower, not a herb garden ("How can I scatter rose petals in my pasta?" he fumes,) things are interrupted when Rick barges in.
Rick confronts Sonny over his threatening Alexis, which Sonny denies. Sonny is clearly manic, which Rick is starting to realize. Sonny tries to smooth things over with Alexis when he sends a huge flower bouquet to Rick and Alexis' new house. Rick reads the card to Alexis with a concerned look on his face.
Sonny finally finishes things off when he goes over to Jason's and starts talking about a chain of Corinthos Coffee Cafes! I guess this is related to the rennovations he now wants to do to the warehouse!
Now Jacks. Jacks runs into Carly at the Metro Court and tells her to make nice with Robin, which as we know isn't on her agenda anytime soon. Why? because Jacks senses that Robin knows the secret about John! (Very good!) Carly goes pale and says she can't possibly know, blah blah, when Jacks says why not? She has access to hospital records and she's been hinting that she has a huge secret that could blow things out of the water--and they don't get any bigger than that certain secret! As a result, he wants to put a hold on John's Christening.
Finally, Luke and Robert. They head over to the Haunted Star (the first time we've seen it since it opened!) where it turns out Tracy has put a monkey wrench into things, as usual. Seems that Tracy has frozen all of Luke's assets, including the Star, and he needs capital!
Nickolas pays a call, and when Luke asks for money, Tracy shows up and puts the breaks on things. She hires Robert to manage the Haunted Star--which goes over like a lead balloon with Luke! But I must say it looks like Robert will be around for awhile, which I for one am happy about!
