So Carly, Sonny and the boys are ringing in the New Year, all cozy, but her resolution is to be a good wife to Jax. She promptly calls the Beefcake, but gets the voicemail. She’s gushing with the message, with that defiant look on her face aimed right at Sonny (see how much I love Jax? SEE?). She sends the boys to bed and tries to shoo Sonny out- he stalls at the door, telling her all about herself and how she makes poor choices. He’s really getting to her and she’s protesting “I’m not panicked!” (She’s hysterical). He promises not to interfere with a Port Chuck wedding, she doesn’t believe him, he’s making sense about her history of lousy choices and (before you know it), they’re smooching again. Just when the horizontal mambo seems possible, he leaves her on the doorstep, panting for more. Smooth move.
Sam, Jason and Spinelli; strange bedfellows in the penthouse, are talking baby. The geek doesn’t want the Goddess to ruin her hotness with a baby. Sam assures him that they are in love, and want a baby. Jason tells Sam first, that he’s afraid of fatherhood, but then gives her the green light to fire up the babymaker. Oh joy.
Maxie has Lucky in a pity-clutch at Kelly’s. They’re waiting out the New Year’s Eve storm, and she’s pulling out all the stops. She’s on about Frisco abandoning her, her mom too, her sister is judgmental, Mac is disappointed in her, she lost her baby, Oh boo hoo. Well, there was that one kiss, and Lucky did say that in another place and time, they might have had a chance. Then the drama queen does the fake apology and tries the misery-lurch out the door. What’s that in the snow? A stray puppy! OMG I’m going to lose my lunch again.
At the same time as the Maxie-Lucky nausea show, Liz is lying in the snow beside her car, after hitting that patch of ice. She’s dreaming about birthing a daughter, and Lucky is the father. Then she’s dreaming about seeing Lucky and Maxie doing the lip-lock over a bag of pills. Finally, she dreams that she’s pregnant with Jason at the penthouse, and he's lifting her up. Dream becomes (TV) reality, and Jason has found her on the road and is hoisting her up. At Kelly’s, Lucky gets the call and tears himself away from the dogs.
Maxie is left alone, seething and plotting.
Robin and Patrick bask in the afterglow on their blow-up mattress in his new apartment. She’s going on and on about furniture (so move in already) and he’s setting up his race car set in the living room. An argument almost erupts, until Patrick reminds Robin of her resolution; to be honest. She admits that she’s worried he won’t want her anymore, after he gets a clean bill of health from the HIV scare. He reassures her that he loves her and that she changed his life. He’ll never revert to the sleazy womanizing creep he used to be (*psssst, get that in writing).
Nicholas and Emily are on the plane to Denver, trying to come up with a cover story for their naughty nanny investigation. The P.I. calls to say Colleen has a granny in Denver.
Liz wakes up to both guys hovering over her. Lucky thanks Jason for saving her life. The baby is OK. Poor Liz is agonizing over the whole thing. When is she going to spill her guts?
I hope you're enjoying Terry's Tuesdays. Feedback is always welcome: tadamse750@rogers.com
